Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT USE WITH ENGINEERED HARDWOOD!! We spent $550 on this to go under our 1800 square feet of new engineered hardwood floors. We ended up having to pull all the floors back up to remove it!!! I'm very disappointed that they recommend this for engineered hardwood! It was so squishy that when you stepped on the end of one board it would separate from the end of the board next to it. That would cause the edges and corners to get chipped or rubbed off if sliding a chair, toys, or feet on the floor. I feel ripped off!!

It also has a water barrier at the base to protect the subfloor and the floor covering. It arrived in good condition and was double bagged in plastic to protect it in transit. The only down side for me is that my hall is 4 feet wide and the product is 3 feet wide I think I can cut it and have enough to use in the hall. I wanted it there because there are some minor imperfections in the subfloor and this will help fill them to protect the integrity of my flooring. I'm pleased with it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can’t really speak to the quietness of this on a first floor (over a basement) application because I installed it in a basement over slab. This is a storage room that I am “semi-finishing” with wall insulations and laminate. I laid down dimpled subfloor covering and then installed this in the opposite direction. It goes down super easy and is easy to cut. The adhesive strip held really well, enough to hold tight, but not so bad that you can still reposition it without tearing. My daughter actually laid down on the laminate said “wow, this is warm”. She was expecting it to be cold like the rest of the basement.

It’s rated for residential and commercial use. Can use over wood and concrete subfloors. It has a vapor barrier for better moisture protection. Has thermal insulation, sound protection and made from 94% recycled material. Easy to install just roll out with vapor barrier film facing up and the trim. Butt them together leaving no gaps, remove the tape strip and secure. Before installing subfloor must be tested for moisture. Overall this was easy to install and time will tell on durability.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This QuieWalk underlayment is great I have used this in my upstairs bedrooms, which are small I only had to lay 2 pieces of this down with a little trimming It doesn't get much easier than that. I am using it for laminate flooring. Just follow the directions on the roll. It's nice quality and I can say is much more sound dampening than I expected. It is very easy to work with and lay down. I love the peel and stick closure and all the other good eco friendly, no voc's, etc and that made it a great choice for me plus I had used QuietWalk brand in my master bedroom and absolutely loved it. Highly Recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great underlayment, a must have when installing flooring [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If your installing almost any type of flooring I would strongly recommend you use QuietWalk 100 sq. ft. 3 ft. x 33.3 ft. x 3 mm Underlayment with Sound and Moisture Barrier for Hardwood and Floating Floors. I have used quiet walk and its' sister products on many floors on my house, both floating laminate, Plank vinyl and also Traditional Hardwood. QuietWalk is really on of the better way to go installation of underlayment wise. It definitely deadens the noise especially with something like hardwood flooring. QuietWalk unique manufacturing process and recycled fiber composition allows it to dissipate moisture; from both below and above, while retaining it's exceptional compression resistance over the lifetime of the floor.

Beyond performance claims (sound + moisture) it also has green claims - 90% of material is recycled (depending on consistency of quality for recycled streams this might be not a “good” claim). Tried different products before mainly polymeric underlayment. Polymeric underlayments do loose elasticity with time (especially in high traffic areas). I do not have high faith in this underlayment after studying it closely – fibers also can compress. Anyway it is too soon to be overoptimistic and overcautious – will take years to see the result. Try!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We finally found some hardwood at Home Depot that matched the other finished floors in our home and decided to lay down around 110 sqft in our previously carpeted family room. Our home was built around 1998 and most of the floors do have squeaks, creeks and make noises when walking on them. Since this room is a large area we wanted to eliminate the potential noise underneath without adding glue. The quietwalk underlayment was perfect for this project and most of all, it works! We can’t even hear walking on them from the basement below. Definitely recommend.

Hi, We would not advise QuietWalk Plus doubled up. Thank you for reaching out. The only difference is the film. The film on QuietWalk Plus is designed to accept nails and adhesives so it works under floating floors, nail down floors, and glue down floors. The standard QuietWalk is for floating floors only.
