Rated 1 out of 5 by from poor product We were told to add this sealer product to our new concrete pathway and it totally ruined the work we did so i recommend you save yourself the money and do NOT buy this product. Our aggregate pathway looked amazing we sprayed this milky product that made the whole pathway look greyish/milky with blotches where it looks more white than others.. photos attached!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great on our old concrete basement floor. Our house is 40+ years old and has very rough/ugly concrete for a basement floor. After giving it a good cleaning, I let it dry and then applied this product to seal the surface. I applied it generously with a paint brush, and was pleased at how it dried clear and gives the floor a satin gloss. It makes cleaning up spills and parrot doodies much easier, and it prevents the concrete from deteriorating any further. Very happy with the results.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dose NOT do as advertised !!! I've applied around 3 coats of this sealer. I could not walk on the floor surface of over a week as it appeared to be very very slow drying. It's been a few months now and it is still very sticky. It leaves my bare feet imprints if i stay in one area for 30+ seconds. I have contacted the manufacture in regarding this problem. I was transferred to their engineer. He informed me that I have applied to thick of a coat and that it will never fully dry. He stated that only 1 to 2 coats are a max for this product. I'm surprised that this product doesn't have any of that information on the bottle. Now I have to hire a company to remove this product and have a new product reapplied by a different manufacturer. I highly DON'T recommend this product to anyone. I usually don't like to leave negative reviews but in this case I have no choice but to help others from making the same expensive mistake as I did. I would give a ZERO review if that was an option.

Could this be used to seal cement all candle vessels?

Asked by: People stink melts
QUIKRETE® Acrylic Concrete Sealer can be used to seal any portland cement based concrete. We recommend caution in over-applying to candle stands, as the film formed by the product when it dries is combustible to open flames.

Can this product be used to seal concrete for a curling rink? I.e., ice over the concrete for 6 months of the year on a refrigerated concrete slab. Is it a clear product? Can it be tinted white?

Asked by: Cracks
QUIKRETE® Acrylic Concrete Cure & Seal is not particularly suitable for continuously wet surfaces. The product forms a semi-permeable barrier to assist in the curing process of freshly placed concrete, and acts as a mild water repellent once cured. QUIKRETE® Acrylic Concrete Cure & Seal is a white liquid, which dries clear. It cannot be tinted. For your application, an epoxy concrete coating may be more suitable.

I have an old concrete counter top that was sealed with a clear coat.  This clear coat is now starting to peel away from the concrete.  Can this product be used to re-coat?  Would we sand off the existing clear coat first? is it food safe?

Asked by: Carl
Any rough areas of the old sealer should be removed (sanded) to make the surface smooth prior to recoating. If the original coating was a water based acrylic, recoating can be done with QUIKRETE® Acrylic Concrete Sealer. Most recommend sealing with a surface sealer and then applying food grade beeswax polish – but other finishes are also used. The beeswax polish will need to be reapplied periodically. The FDA does not approve polishes such as beeswax for commercial kitchens, because the coating wears. Be cautioned that wax may cause the finish of the Gloss Sealer to look hazy, and there is potential for the wax application equipment to affect the bond of the sealer. We recommend trialing the wax in a discrete area to ensure that the results are acceptable. QUIKRETE® is a world leader in concrete and construction products. We do not claim to be experts in food safety technology. Use a wax that is appropriate for the individual surface type it is being applied over. FDA advises that food, especially meats and fish, be placed on food preparation items such as cutting board and not directly on countertops.

Is this right to seal the basement floor?

The basement concrete floor was applied after the walls, so now there is a line of gap between the floor and the wall, what should I use to seal it? should I use the acrylic seal or the gray concrete crack seal?
Asked by: Anonymous
QUIKRETE Polyurethane Self-Leveling Sealant (if crack is 13 mm wide or less) or Polyurethane Concrete Crack Sealant (if crack is 10 mm wide or less) would be the most appropriate products to seal the narrow gap where the floor and wall meet. They are more durable than Liquid Concrete Crack Seal. If you are using a product for waterproofing, please discuss with a contracting expert or call QUIKRETE directly.

Asked by: Shaun
QUIKRETE® Acrylic Concrete Cure & Seal can be applied the same day concrete is placed, as soon as bleed water has been reabsorbed.

can this be used on an indoor unfinished/untreated concrete basement?

Asked by: Anonymous
QUIKRETE Concrete Cure & Seal – Satin Finish can certainly be used to seal an indoor unfininished / untreated concrete basement. It should not be used on nonporous, sealed or painted surfaces. It will repel water from the concrete surface, as well as protect and seal it from acids, grease, salt, etc. It should not be used in circumstances in which water is migrating from below the concrete floor to the surface of the concrete, due to hydrostatic pressure.
