Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works awesome, easy to use, and finishes nice Accidentally added too much water to some concrete, so the top surface dusted and sloughed off. Chipped off the top 1 inch and used this to resurface my project, couldn't be happier. Other reviewer said there are rocks in it. well, read the bag; it says minimum application Thickness is 1/2": The rocks are not bigger than that. Also like that it meets the standard for high strength grout.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rocks The bag says sand/topping mix -- I found many little rocks in the mix, Almost impossible to get a nice finish. I would never use it to refinish concrete again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Decent Cement is a decent quality but bags were in bad condition (looked like water damage). Curbside pickup is a hassle too. Took forever and staff threw the bag roughly into my vehicle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better and cheaper than Bonded Topping Mx Just as good as Bonded Topping Mix for only quarter for cost. Added stand alone bonding agent works just as well.

Walkway is old resin poured cement with thin cracks can I use quikrete Sand/topping mix?

Asked by: Glad
I don't think this is the best product as there is quite a lot of small gravel chunks in the mix. Better to use the Quikcrete that is just cement with no chunks. I used the bonded topping mix as well and that should work well to get into the cracks and bond to the existing cement.

I am trying to finish my basement floors and I have an area approximately 40 sq feet that the floor has dropped 1 1/2 inches. The employee at home depot stated that this would be a good product to use to level out the floor. Is this correct?

Asked by: Fergie
I use this a fair bit at work, it’s easy to work with and finishes quite well. I can’t say how well it will bond to the concrete underneath however. I’m usually installing it on top of another wet concrete mix but I’d say if it’s an inch or more thick you shouldn’t have to worry about it cracking up or popping out.

On the description it says it can be used as a base for brick pavers. I was thinking of using this as a base for individual stepping stones. Would this product work for that application? If so, how long to wait until I can walk on the stone?

Asked by: underscore
Yes that should work, I would wait 2 day's for a good cure before walking on it.

I'm looking for a cement or concrete that has a smooth finish with no rocks to make garden stepping stones. I want to be able to decorate and put my daughters footprints in it so it needs to be completely smooth. Would this be a good option?

Asked by: Ashley
Yes this would work well. I use for stained glass stepping stones. Use a trowel to make smooth, then decorate.

I am looking for dry pack mortar mix (4 to 1). Is this the right ratio/material?

Asked by: leonardo
QUIKRETE® does not manufacture products volumetrically in small quantities. QUIKRETE® Sand/Topping mix contains approximately 4 parts sand to 1 part cement, but the actual quantities vary by location as all products are designed to meet specifications.
