Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finishing touch on our Decking Rail/posts Nice finish to our Railblazers deck system. This covers up the mounting bolts on the base of the post and gives a finished look to the post. These really should be included with the posts, as they not only cover the bolts, but visually give the post base a slightly larger, more balanced look. Installation could not have been simpler, they solidly click together within seconds--super easy. They are metal with painted finish that matches our posts and rails exactly. Would purchase again if installing another deck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice finish to our deck! An excellent addition to our deck! The black powder coated finish was flawless--looks really sharp. The gate securely locks and freely opens and closes with no binding or squeaking. The gate is welded construction with the exception of the latch side, which is removable to cut the gate to size. Installation was pretty straight forward, the Railblazers website has a great video on how to install the gate--remember to measure several times than cut once! If you have to remove the hinge bolt in order to make it easier to install the lag bolts in the post--take careful note of the configuration of plastic spacers in the hinges--take a picture before disassembly. To reassemble I used a piece of masking tape to hold the spacers in place--pull the tape out once the bolt has passed through the spacer--otherwise it's nearly impossible to keep everything together.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality Control The new flat black looks great the quality control has gone downhill. some posts didnt have full coverage and the aluminum was exposed in the upper corners. Also there is "blue" plastic film protecting the upper and lower rails, that when removed leaves the glue on the rails that then has to be cleaned off (wasting time) this never happened with the clear plastic film. I thought maybe it was the way i was handling and storing them prior to use but some of the rails had the clear plastic and the glue wasnt an issue.

how many millimetres thick is the 36x54 trailblazers glass panel?

    Asked by: steve
Hi Steve, thanks for your question. This panel, as are all of our solid glass panels that are 18" to 66" wide (in 3in. increments) are 6mm thick.

I am planning on installing the large glass panels. we get full sun all afternoon on our back deck. I have been told by someone that it will make my deck like a fishbowl and make it even hotter than when we had traditional railings. Has anyone experienced

    Asked by: Valerie
Hi Valerie, great question! There will be some thermal effect due to the glass, but if your deck isn't completely closed in this shouldn't make any significant difference. You can leave spaces up to 100mm between the glass panel and the post to allow for some airflow as well. Thanks again Valerie!

I made my 4 by 4 support posts as my railing supports. will this kit work with wood supports?

    Asked by: Ben87
Hi Ben87, thanks for your question. You can attach the hand & base rails (sold separately) to existing wooden posts using the wall mount brackets (also sold separately). We suggest using our railing designer on the Home Depot website to create your railing design, or contacting our customer service department at 877-883-7325 for assistance determining which components you need for your project. Thank you!

    Does this include the glass?

    Asked by: Mich
Hi Mich, we are happy to clarify. This item consists of 1 x tempered glass panel that measures 66 x 36-5/16 x 1/4 inches. You'll need to purchase the hand rails and posts separately, as well as a special gasket for the glass panel, model 90940. Please don't hesitate to give us a call at 877-883-7325 if you have any additional questions at all. Thanks Mich!

We are considering the RailBlazer for our new deck. We have an area that the deck is butted up against the pool. Would you recommend the glass railing for beside a pool?

    Asked by: amy007
I had a similar situation. I screwed down the posts as close to the pool as possible, using extender bits and cardboard between my pool and drill so I would not damage it. It all worked out very nicely. Using the glass panels or pickets is really an aesthetic thing. I have both because we had some sections of railings that was too short to use the glass panels. Honestly, the Railblazer is pretty easy to install, as long as you have all the necessary tools. And installing the glass panels IS a two person job. Good luck!

Do I have to leave a space between the post and the glass, I know it says a max of 3 inches in between, but we want it to be butt up against the posts. ( trying to block mosquitoes)

    Asked by: Happy123
There is no mandatory space needed. The glass pannels can completly fill the space between two posts.
