Rated 4 out of 5 by from Different length picket spacers. Just installed the Peak Railblazer system on my front porch. used a 6 ft section and 2 x 4 ft sections with stairs. All went well until the last picket sections. I measured the end and cut the end spacers so as to center the pickets. Cut all 4 spacers together and install the bottom 2, went to install the top 2 and they were 3/8 inches too long. Check all my measurements and found 7 spacers that were 4 inches long, instead of the 3-7/8 inches that they should of been. 5 spacers on the top and 2 on the bottom. had to take the entire section apart, sort out the spacers. Luckily I had just enough 3-7/8 spacers to complete the work work using the 4 inch spacers to do the cut end pieces. Quality control needs to improve.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product! This railing system is very nice—clean install, nice finish, and very sturdy. The stair sections are poorly designed—very finicky to install with lots of ‘assemble and disassemble’ going on. Other aluminum stair section kits have swivel brackets for custom angles, however, this kit requires each rail to be angle cut—swivel brackets makes far more sense IMHO. It would be nice if the stair sections were available in shorter lengths as well since you can’t modify the picket spacing and the offset introduces a lot of waste. All in all, the resulting look makes this railing a good option—in comparison to other railings on the market I think the detail on this railing is exceptional—but be prepared for a little more troubleshooting than your average aluminum railing kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Aluminum railing on composite and concrete We love our railing system. Installed it ourselves on composite and concrete. Went with metal concrete screws / bolts (that expand?... sorry, my husband did the shopping) for the concrete because blue tapcon ones that were recommended broke and we couldn’t get them back out, so that was a little frustrating. Anyway. It is holding up really well and looks amazing. Would definitely buy this product again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice kit, easy enough to install for someone handy Easy to install kit, looks really nice. Just make sure you get an aluminum cutting blade for your mitre saw and it goes really smooth. Railings are a pain in the butt to install on the stairs as mine are concrete and not 100% perfect. Only issue in the entire install was getting the railing to fit right as the instructions do not work for uneven stairs and mounting to concrete. Overall very pleased with kit. Many compliments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best product I’ve found that can be purchased I’ve found it surprising difficult to buy quality diy railing and fence products. I actually purchased a railing online and really didn’t find it high-quality professional enough to install. This product is sturdy and professional even though it says it is for residential use only. Also bought and 8’ railing in the store which I am searching for on the website so I can leave a review.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from End post with customization. I installed glass panel railing and used end posts to the wall instead of wall brackets for a nicer look. To make it flush to the wall I had to cut part of the foot off and added a hole in the top hand rail insert area and fastened it to the wall. One star off because I feel this should be an option to purchase. Had to modify the base cover as well. I,m super happy how it turned out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but little leeway in concrete. Well made product, but difficult to install in tight places, especially on concrete. I used the Tapcon concrete screw anchors as recommended. In the future, I would probably use something along the lines of a Hilti Kwik Bolt. The holes in the base of the post do not allow for much movement, so be sure you have your drilled holes properly aligned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Peak Railing Products When installing post, found bottom cap was two females instead of female and male. Contacted Peak and had replacement cap in three days. Excellent service, great product.

How much clearance should the railing post be installed off the edge of the perimeter rim joist? The deck is 8ft off the ground.

Asked by: DanielK
I don't think it matters, however they come with long lag screws (3" - 4"?) so its really useful to have wood structure other than just deck boards to secure them to, just to help stability. Assuming the rim joist is well secured, drilling pilot holes and screwing direct to that would work well.

I need to attach the stair post to concrete surface, does this packet include concrete fasteners?

Asked by: Edward
No, it comes with large screws to attach to a wood base. For concrete you would need to buy appropriate anchors and screws separately.

Can I use a corner post at the top of my stairs and a stair post at the bottom of the stairs or do I need to use a stair post at the top as well? If I need to use a stair post at the top, can I still connect the railing to it like the corner one?

Asked by: Buck
Hi Buck, thanks for your question. You can definitely tie in the stair railing to the corner post. Please give us a call at 877-883-7325 at your convenience and we can walk you through how this would work. Thanks very much Buck, we'll look forward to hearing from you!
