Rated 1 out of 5 by from They dont sell these brackets at ANY store I wasted an extraneous amount of time purchasing all the parts and building a stair railing. I figured the first store I went to was just out of stock of the connectors so I went ahead with the project. Then, I discover, these "key," connector parts to the railing system are not for sale at any Home Depot in Calgary. Ridiculous! I ended up buying a completely different brand of railing, from a competitor to use with the posts I had already installed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice kit, easy install for handy people Easy to install kit, looks really nice. Just make sure you get an aluminum cutting blade for your mitre saw and it goes really smooth. Railings are a pain in the butt to install on the stairs as mine are concrete and not 100% perfect. Only issue in the entire install was getting the railing to fit right as the instructions do not work for uneven stairs and mounting to concrete. Overall very pleased with kit. Many compliments.

I bought this product for a front railing for a client, I had issues when it came time to install the top and bottom rail for stairs , I watched the video online and it helped clear some things up, however if your holes don't line up perfectly for where you have to drill through the product (something I believe should be predrilled and pre manufactured on a hinge) when you go to install the top and bottom rails that you were told to cut at the same length you end up with an odd spacing between your spindles and have to basically take everything apart to fix this, i'm not a fan of this product, and I wish I could get my money back for it, hopefully in the future they make this "universal connector" easier to install, also the way you need to mount it to the posts is near impossible once you assemble the universal connector, just difficult in every aspect. Not worth the price I paid, But if you purchase this system you are forced to spend the money. For what I spent I Definitely would have expected instructions in the package.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Work well but expensive. These connectors work well and do what they are supposed to do but for $22 you'd think they would be made in Canada, not China. Remember that for each rail you need two of these, so $44 plus tax, so about $50! That is far too much for a set of connectors.

So I need two universal connectors to complete one step railing - but what do I use for the handrail? Can I use a 6 foot railing section? We purchased the poles for the top and bottom but did not discuss what to put between when we put in our order .

In addition to the universal connectors, you will also need 2 x stair posts (model 90051), 1 x 4' hand & base rail (model 90101) and 1 x 6' stair pickets & spacers (model 90261). How do I install stair railing that is not 90 degrees to the deck? My stairs are 45 degrees to the deck.

Thank you for your question. In order to achieve this, you would need to install two posts at the top of the stairs. How many are in a package?

are there only the top and bottom rail bracket in one package for 17.97?

Each package of Universal Connectors contain one handrail bracket, one base rail bracket, and all necessary fasteners to assemble and attach the connector.

Hey, can I use this to anchor a hand and base rail to a support column in a 5 ft section instead of an end post?

Hello Wieber, thank you for your question. You can definitely use this connector to attach a hand & base rail to an existing column. Depending on the dimensions of the existing column, you may also be able to use the wall mount bracket (model 90920/90921 - white/black).
