Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy Do not buy any Rheem products. They last a maximum of 6.2 years and since the warranty only covers 6 years they won’t help you out. Home Depot was also very unhelpful with all of this!

Hello, Do two heat elements (4500 watt each) work at the same time (9000 watt total) or they work in non-simultaneous operation ( 4500 watt total)? Do you think that 20 amp/208V single phase power source is enough to run it? Thank you

specifications state 30-amp breaker required ... does this breaker have to be double-pole?

Asked by: Anonymous
As stated... It needs 240v in your panel. double-pole 30 does 240v where as single-pole does 110v. So to answer your question yes, it needs double-pole. Having said that, if you had to ask a simple electrical question such as that, I'd be a little worried about you passing code on your own doing your own electrical. Do you know how much of your panel should be free before you attempt to add a double-pole circuit? Do you know the proper gauge of wire needed? Are you aware of code for staples and where they need to be? Are you aware of what fittings are required at the plug? You could easily cause issues if you didn't answer yes to all those questions. Sorry for being blunt. I'm a property developer by trade. 95% of every house I've ever bought has had hack job electrical done by inexperienced people who "Thought" they could do the job. This even extends to general contractors not just the homeowners. If you saw some of the scary electrical that I've had to deal with, you'd see why I mention this to you. A qualified electrician can do this for you for less than $100. Piece of mind goes a long way.

Your specs on the website show that the heating elements are stainless steel, whereas the shipping container in store describes the elements as copper.  Which is it?

Asked by: Macquanski
The box is correct. The following model has the stainless steel upgrade, if you prefer. (1000839810). Sorry for the confusion. Cheers. Mike.
