Rated 5 out of 5 by from No issues since 2016 install Happy with this unit. Bottom cold line in threw me for a loop and is not really standard. Lots of people on here complaining about the cold entry being on the bottom, but I didn’t have any issues. I had lots of 3/4” pex and just extended the line... done. Led indicates which element is on because only one element is ever on... top or bottom at any given time. Have never had an issue since 2016 install.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works well after installation issue After reading other reviews on this water heater I knew that it was bottom fed, which worked for my installation above a crawl space. What I didn't know was that instead of having an independent inlet, the cold water inlet is actually on the side of the drain, and it's a female thread, so I had to head back to the store to get a 3/4" threaded nipple to attach the water line. After hooking everything up and filling the tank, the drain started to leak, exactly as described in one of the previous reviews. If the water inlet wasn't on the side of the drain I may have been able to tighten it, but I couldn't do that without removing my cold water line, which would have resulted in all the water flooding out onto the floor. I had to drain the tank and reinstall the drain, which had the tiniest amount of thread sealant I've ever seen. After reinstalling the drain properly and refilling the tank it's been working well for two weeks now. I hadn't thought about this before, but cold water entry on the top of the tank is probably best. It's one less spot at the bottom of the tank that can start to leak. If something is leaking at the bottom you have no choice but to completely drain the tank before you can fix it. The next tank I buy will be a top entry.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chauffe eau Rheem mauvais 1 an après l'achat j'avais déjà des problèmes j ai appelé au no. fourni avec le chauffe eau. N'achetez jamais cet article.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Had this water heater professionally installed Sept. 2017. Stopped working Feb.2018. Do not recommend this product to anyone requiring hot water in their house.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from In correct product description. I bought this unit to replace a top feed heater. No where in the specifications, description or even the picture does it show or tell you that it is in fact a bottom feed. Even the box shows that it is supposed to be a top feed. It is not until you get it home and opened that you find out it is a bottom feed. And by then it is to hard return or doing anything as the box is generally ruined. Then you find out you need extra parts as you will need elbows, extra pex, sharkbite and even a male connector to attach the pipe to the intake. If this had been a top feed as the website alludes too it would have taken one third the time. So not a bad review of the product but of home depot for incorrect product information.

Are the brass top connectors included with the tank. If not where on the homedepot website do I find them?

Do you need a 10/2 or 10/3 wire? Do you have a link to a wiring diagram?

Is the only difference between this model and the "Performance Model # 629995" the additional 3 years of warranty? Because based on reviews, it appears their customer service/warranty support is very questionable and would not pay the extra for this

    Asked by: Ben1
Yes, but when I needed to access the warranty I had lots of problems with getting the problem fixed

Just about the heating sequence. when i first installed the water heater. upper element indicator turned on. bottom element did not. the water is hot and loved it. just wondering is it normal that the lower element that always works after initial heat up?

    Asked by: Wenn
The elements on this heater never both come on at the same time since they operate non-simultaneously. All three of the lights on the panel should never be on at the same time.
