Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best! We replaced our leaky water tank with this unit a year ago. So far it’s been fantastic! None of the hot water sandwich effect that some tankless do. 100% reliable out of the box. I installed it myself following the instructions and it was very easy. Took a day minus the gas line. Highly recommend this unit. It’s nice to have extra room where the old tank used to be too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice unit This is the second unit I've installed. The appearance of this unit is different than listed on the sight, but the specs are the same to the best of my knowledge. This is my second time installing such a unit; this time in my own home. I'm quite pleased with this design, operation and appearance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Design and working well. It has been installed and running for almost three weeks now.... I bought this unit at the local Home depot after reading multiple reviews. It replaced a 12 year old competitors unit of similar capacity. This unit is taller but the venting and the plumbing fittings are in the same location so it went in pretty easily the next day. Pros: Quiet Efficiency much better than previous highly efficient unit. Exhaust very cool ( Sign of high efficiency ) Supplies water hotter and more consistently for same temp setting than old unit. Has option for Maintenance mode to remind for service Cons: The installation manual could be more clearly written. Make Sure you have a good condensate drain available. Because of the high efficiency the condensate really pours out. Overall I am really pleased with the quality and efficiency of this unit so far and I expect a long life ahead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great investment It is almost a year when we got this unit installed by replacing old direct vent water heater. Sometimes we used warm water in 3 showers same time and not issue noticed. Loved this little machine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Water slow to heat up It is really good - no fluctuating of hot and cold water. But it does take a long time for the hot water to start up so wastes water if you are in short supply.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded expectations Water gets very hot, love the size, fairly quiet. Takes up so little space and love the constant hot water. Very happy with the product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice unit. I installed this for my son-in-law. This is the first time I've ever work with such a unit. I've had experience building my own home, so I'm a proficient handyman. I enjoyed installing this unit, and just thought I'd show off my handiwork. The only thing I'm somewhat surprised by is size of the intake and outtake air pipes, but, after seeing this unit in operation, it's works perfectly well. Additionally, while operating, the exhaust temp is not even uncomfortable. The other thing is that the manual recommends a 3/4" water line going to this unit, but if you look at the actual opening of the provided valves, the opening is 1/2". (Maybe I don't know enough about the flow rate of plumbing - although I know enough a trunk line should be 3/4, and line to taps etc should be 1/2" ... although taps have a smaller opening yet)

I will be replacing a Rheem gas fired 50 gallon power vented hot water tank. Will the venting of the Rheem tankless unit require special or extra venting povisions?

Asked by: Browner
Hello Browner, Thanks for asking, this particular heater requires two separate 2 inch or 3 inch schedule 40 vent connections 1 for the air intake and 1 for the exhaust, So likely you will need to add an additional pipe for the intake.

Follow-up question - Can I use a reducer on the 3/4" water inlets to match up with the 1/2" waterlines in my house? The user manual does not specify water line sizes, only water pressure needs to be 40psi for optimal operation. Rheem phone # ?

Asked by: Grego
Thank you for asking. The water lines need to be 3/4". You can increase the size of the water line at the tankless unit from 1/2" to 3/4".

My house is pretty old, the water supply from the city is only 5/8" and I have 1/2" pipes throughout the house (copper + PEX). Will I be able to use this in my house? I see that the water supply inlet on the heater is set up for 3/4" pipes.

Asked by: Grego
Thank you for asking. The unit requires a 3/4" gas and water line.
