Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loading the blade I bought the Ridgid cordless jigsaw yesterday. Prior to buying it I checked out the customer reviews on this website. From the reviews I gathered that it was heavy ... Which it is, although I would prefer it to be heavy with durability than light and have complications. The Lifetime Service Agreement (LSA) is a pain, I have bought several Gen 5 tools, filed the registration on line, only too receive a notice that there was a problem and they requested I send in the original receipt by "registered mail" ($54.00)... I just attached a tracking number at the cost of $17.54 and I haven't had an issue. The other main issue I saw in the reviews was that the blade was not perpendicular to the base plate. Many reviews said that it would not cut straight and it was slow cutting ... When I first put the blade in my saw it wasn't perpendicular to the base plate. So I went the the manual that came with it and that was a joke. I thought this is a well built tool, if this has been an on going issue, why haven't they fixed it. So I went back to the saw and tried again. After several attempts to reinstall the blade I realized that Inside at the bottom of the chuck was spring loaded and when I pushed down hard enough and engaged the lock the problem was solved. Saving me the time of having to returning it like many other reviewer that had this issue. Over all I have been very pleased with the Gen 5 cordless tools. The Jig Saw makes the eighth cordless Ridgid tools in my shop and I haven't been let down yet.

Does this tool accept both "T" and "U" shank type blades?
