The RIDGID 19 Litre (5 Gallon) Ash Vacuum Cleaner is designed to clean ash debris and other fine dusts. This ash vac has a powerful 3 peak horsepower motor that provides superior suction during dust collection. The non-stick HEPA media filter system prevents ash from passing into exhaust air stream (be sure to regularly clean and correctly re-install the filter system to avoid any dust escaping). The rugged 29-gauge steel drum construction is made for heavy-duty use. The metal-lined hose and the included metal accessories are designed to safely clean ash and debris in pellet stoves, chimneys, barbecue grills, and more. The 8 ft. (2.4 m) power cord wraps around the carry handle for storage, and caster wheels with on-board storage for accessories provide excellent mobility across a variety of surfaces. The RIDGID ash vac is for dry pick-up of cool debris only (up to 50C / 122F in temperature), and should not be used for liquid or water collection.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good vacuum for pellet stove ash I wanted to leave a review because there are a lot of mixed reviews for this and I wasn't sure it would be a good purchase. We recently moved into a house with a pellet stove, and during the really cold spells it is our primary heat source. When we had to clean it out we used a shop vac with a filter on it but almost right away ash would spray all over the living room which was terrible to clean up. I have only used this a few times now but it has worked great and I have had no mess to clean up. My only complaint is I wish it had another attachment with an angled end to get into the corners better. But it still gets the job done. I will clean the filter soon, I don't mind doing that frequently if it means ash won't spray all over my living room!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great vaccuum I bought this vaccuum specifically for my pellet stove and it works well! You have to clean out the filter to keep the suction. I just take it apart and tap it and the ash falls out. J recommend using the little tool that comes with the pellet stove and scrape out the fire box hard compressed ash and not using the vaccuum and clog it quickly.

I SEE A LOT OF NEGATIVE REVIEWS AND DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY. MY ADVISE TO USERS IS TO CLEAN OUT FILTER AFTER EVERY 2ND OR 3RD USE. DURING WINTER MONTHS I USE MINE EVERY DAY AND CLEAN THE FILTER 3 TIMES A WEEK. IT SAT UNUSED FOR 7 MONTHS AND STILL WORKS LIKE NEW.

So far I have had no issues and it's been working great for my purposes! I don't usually need to run it for more than 5 min at a time. No issues with suction.

This is the only way you are going to keep it running properly. It only takes 5 min. Do that and you will have no problem it. I do recommend this. Thanks

We still wait a few hours after the stove is turned off before cleaning, but we don't worry about any stray hot ashes.

Is there a protective cover that goes over the filter to keep the filter from clogging up so much.
