Rated 4 out of 5 by from 85 sheets of type x and no problems I’ve used the expensive collated corded drivers and this ridgid keeps up. Put up about 20 sheets on a single 2 ah battery, note- it was 20 degrees F and the batteries were not charging fully. The build quality does seem slightly cheaper than other ridgid tools as another review stated, but still operates extremely well after finding correct depth settings. So far the bit is still holding up strong. The only issue with screws not sinking all the way were operator error. Missing studs or driving at an angle. The rubber nose on the collated attachment did start to pull off, but nothing super glue wont fix. Would recommend and plan to pick up another!

If the screws aren't perfectly tight to the plastic strip, a screw will fail. Once one screw fails, the rest of the strip will not be driven properly. I tried many times to realign the strips and wasn't able to get it to get realigned. I found it faster to use the driver loading one screw at a time. If I hadn't had to buy the batteries separately from the gun, I would have returned it all. I already have a corded driver that does the same job as the cordless one. I was really hoping to gain some efficiencies with the collater.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great time saver! I bought this tool as I am working to finish a basement. Hand screwing in drywall one at a time is slow, tedious, cumbersome and not effective from a time perspective. I haven't used a collated gun in years. I first looked at the pneumatic but for $51 more I was really interested in the freedom of a cordless unit. As I have Ridgid batteries and chargers in my arsenal already it was an easy choice. My first impressions are that the manual stinks. I assembled the unit with both the collated and the drywall nose attachments and tested them separately. The performed as expected and sunk screws to their respective depths. There is a locking lever to set the length of the screw on the compressible guide on the collated attachment. Also, there is a fine-tuning depth dial to help out. The drywall nose piece has indicator arrows to raise and lower the end to achieve the proper depth. The tool is built to what Ridgid standards are expected from past experience. It is not overly heavy or imbalanced and even hung well from a blue jean pocket by the attached clip. It had a load mode that allows this unit to not have the tool rev up to full speed before sinking the screw. With an 18v 4amp battery the tool performed flawlessly. I was able to be up and running in no time at all. This has definitely reduced my time per sheet and was well worth the money invested. My only complaint is the forward/reverse switch. Sometimes it can be flipped without knowing and won't drive a screw in, this happened about four times over the course of 12 sheets and it was the user error where I had accidentally moved the lever. I would like to see a switch that takes more effort to move to avoid this. Otherwise, a great time-saving tool that makes my life easier and a great investment for a reasonable price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Would be 5 stars but can't find replacement bits Collated attachment takes a non-standard bit length (148 mm) that appears to be unavailable in Canada. Ridgid makes these (Phillips is AC96614, Robby is AC96615) & Home Depot USA website lists them (though even in US Phillips is currently out of stock) So far they aren't even listed on H.D. Canada website. Advice for Ridgid: If you're going to make a tool that doesn't use bit length that isn't an industry standard size then its on you to make sure they are available.

I was surprised by the difference it made in efficiency. I was relieved by the ease of operation. My wrists and elbows breathed sighs of relief. My only concern is that they bit kept giving itself up in the screw, after I sank it. I tried different depths, and even the factory bit that comes with the drywall screws - that made it worse. Other than that, it is worth every single penny.

I bought it specifically for the coalated screw capability which really makes it easy to run one handed. Depth adjustment is easy to set and I like the fact that I can also take the coalated screw attachment off and just use traditional sheetrock screws when I want to. I would definitely buy this again!

What screws does this take to use with the collator? Pro desk at HD sold me 2500 of the wrong ones. They must be attached at the top of the screw, not in the middle?
