Rated 2 out of 5 by from Does not sink nails I have had this for a year now and it is the only Ridgid tool I regret buys so far. It is very inconsistent when it comes to Sinking nails. The first nail you put in never sinks completely the rest are all hit and miss. Every nail after that has a 50-50 chance of staying 1/8 to 1/4 inch out of the wood. Tried positioning my hand in many different ways to no avail. The tool is just very inconsitent. Originally bought it a couple of days before the first Covid shutdown, didn't return it when the stores opened for a while and now I am stuck with it. I'll send it for warranty repair but basically till then I'm back to using the old pneumatic nailer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Was fine, until it broke (after 500 brad nails) Worst ridgid tool I've owned. I registered for the LSA so when it broke I called around where to get it fixed. None of the places will touch the tool as it's a lengthy fix as they mention the electronics fail and they aren't paid enough to make the warranty repair worth it. Now I'm stuck with a $300 paper weight. Home Depot, are you willing to step up and help?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from RIDGID Brad nailer I decided to purchase the RIDGID Brad nailer after reading reviews on the internet comparing many different finishing nailers. For this particular case, the RIDGID nailer was on sale : tool only purchase, with battery and charger free. As a result the overall purchase price was more comparable to other nailers. This nailer functions very well and I would have given it a five star rating, however, I had to replace the first unit I purchased... it functioned for about 10 nails and simply stopped working! Happily, the hardware store where I purchased it made it very easy for me to make an exchange for a new one. The replacement unit was worked flawlessly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nail Driving pin sticks. I’m a professional carpenter. I use ridgid tools every day. They’re not the best but they work well. But this v2 (second generation) of 18 gauge brad nailer is terrible. I had a v1 brad nailer that functioned well for half a year. Got it replaced and the v2 started malfunctioning on second use. The firing pin wouldn’t return in. I took that for a replacement but I tried two more with the nails that I was using in a pneumatic brad nailer earlier that day and had the exact same issue. It’s significantly smaller and looks nice and worked well initially. But overall it’s a failure of a product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Year round in the Pacific Northwest I think this things sweet , The strawberry over a full year in the tool box, -11 up to 30 runs fine I use it almost every week with some week it running full 8 hour days in the rain . Never baby it it just gets tossed back in in the bin with the rest of the tools and shovel and what ever else . When it jams (probably are bad from running wet sawdust and mud covered nails Through it ) it’s easy to clean top latch is well Thought out . It’s Survived multiple dropped off fences and ladders some times Direct on to bricks . Some times the battery connection is a little iffy (again probably are bad ) all you gotta do is take 4amp of and blow it like a n64 cartridge! Over all I could not live with out this thing !!!! It’s awesome and it shoots beer cans clean at about 40 feet …

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Problematic Until recently the nailer did not allow me to sink nails in deep enough. I went online and decided to grease it . For about 1 day it sunk the nails properly. Have had to grease it again. It takes about 1 hour to grease it. I tried to find the maintenance kit on the Ridgid site but could not find it. I should have registered the nailer but did not get around to it so no warranty (I guess).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware of lifetime warranty The tool is good. I have an issue with Ridgid promoting this *Lifetime* warranty which makes you chose their products of other brands, then when it comes time to register the products online surprise surprise, you have entered serial numbers in wrong (I didn't) and that phone number never works. If you are choosing their products no problem, the tools are okay. If you are choosing because of this *Lifetime warranty* then good luck with that. Buyer beware. Do your research online and make up your own mind. Ridgid will not get any money from me in the future.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hit or miss After a couple months with this nailer I am pretty disappointed with the performance. It often doesn't fully drive the nail. It's kind of annoying as a pro carpenter having to stop every 10 nails or so and get the nail set out. The tool is a little heavy but you get used to it. It doesn't operate very well if it's cold so you have to bring it in the house to warm up before use. When you're on the job site, you don't want to wait for a tool to be ready. The weight and size make it awkward at times to operate. I thought this would ease the inconvenience of a compressor and cord but it just creates other annoyances. I don't think I'm going to use this on a daily bases and will probably return it. All my other cordless tools are Ridgid and I have been very happy with them. This is the first I've decided to return.
