Rated 1 out of 5 by from Designed to be disposable I'm a homeowner not a contractor and use this for light duty trim installs. The tool started failing and would stop firing ten minutes after a fully charged battery was inserted; then it stopped working completely. Rigid won't have anything to do with it. The local store tells me I have to spend $100 just for a diagnosis. I'm getting another gun, but you can be sure it won't be by Rigid.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from LIGHT DUTY cordless nailer i have only driven about 200 nails . the driver continues to stick down and or jamb. a friends dewalt works much better. I purchased this mainly because no one stocked a dewalt and ridgid has a good warranty . and I have liked other ridgid tools. If you are going to shoot a lot of nails i would stick with air

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just buy a spare- When it's working the tool is great! Lightweight, compact, & compatible with all of my other Ridgid batteries and chargers. However within a one year stretch it has been replaced once for a factory flaw and is back at HD getting repaired for a second time because they never tested it after repairing the tool last time. Apparently if you just throw parts at it, it's supposed to fix the problem. Lifetime warranties are great but if you need to use the tool to make a living you'll need to buy a spare. Mine has been gone for 3 or 4 weeks already and I'm not sure what to expect.

Just purchased the nailer and slid in a sleeve of 1 1/4 inch Paslode 18 gauge nails. Spring loader doesn't secure nails

Am I missing something as it looks like longer nails will be held in by the spring loader.
Asked by: Cr
You may need to shorten the strip. Pull a 5-10 nails off of the strip, or break a strip in two, and see if it loads a shorter strip. I use Porter Cable nails, myself. See if the new strip is the same length as other strips you've used.

I'm having a nail shooting issue

Recently during a home improvement project, my nailer stopped shooting all the way. I know they are the proper nails, as I have shot several strips through already. The battery is fully charged when I start, and most of the time it's only driving the nail about 1/2 way in. I have tried changing the settings for the depth with no positive results. In some cases, I have had to unlatch where the head is to get it off of a partially driven nail. I hope there's a remedy to this, I absolutely love this tool.
Asked by: Neal
I've had this frustration myself at times with this tool. I was trimming out a porch, and I had pullers at the ready all the time. I think if you've already dialed it up to max, and have a peak battery, that's all you can do. Some observations I made when using it was you have to hold it very firmly, solidly, to delivery full impact on the nail. Also, if using at an off angle, it will not plunge the nailhead properly. Something else, you could try would be to clean up any grime or goo, which may affect operation, and give moving shots a shot of silicone spray (external parts). Maybe it's due for service. I wish I could be more helpful. I haven't used mine in a long while.

Where can I get a replacement battery

Where can I get a replacement batttery for the rigid nail gun RF 250AF18
Asked by: Joe
Home Depot is the only place that sells batteries for this at a retail level. ANY 18V Ridgid battery will work, but I recommend Lithium Ion batteries since they work more consistantly than NiCad batteries.
