Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well designed I purchased this vacuum a few weeks ago and the design and performance is more than I expected. The organization of the tools and hose makes it easy to transport and store and the locking feature saves time and frustration when pulling the vacuum around. There is no chance of inadvertently disconnecting the hose with this well thought out system. The performance has been exceptional. I have used the removable blower to clean my patio and driveway with impressive and quiet power. I have also used the vacuum to clean up maple tree seeds after I blew them to the perimeter of my driveway. Quick and efficient.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product! Excellent vacuum with lots of power! Only thing I would like to see improve is better adaptors for the hose. Overall I would buy another one and totally recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great vacuum Very happy with the vacuum. Love that the various attachments all attach to the vacuum when not in use. The clipping system keeps attachments securely connected - a problem with my last vac. Plenty of power.

I've had this vac for a couple of years and last time I used it, it just stopped working right in the middle of the job. I emptied the tank and changed the filter, looked under the hood and extracted some fluff. Still not working. Any ideas?

Asked by: PNDFARY
Maybe try blowing all debris out and retry. Was there a burning smell at all? Could be bad motor, loose connection, bad switch etc. Hard to diagnose issue over computer. Might want to contact cutomer service. Cheers

I am looking for a filter for a model #WD19500 / wet. dry vacuum. Where can I buy a filter for this model?

Asked by: Hugley
Hello Hugley, Thank you for your inquiry about our products. You can buy the filters at Home Depot stores or online at www.homedepot.com or store.ridgid.com. We have different filters for different jobs. For standard or typical basement or garage dirt, you can use the VF4000. For fine dust, such as drywall or cement dust, you must have the VF5000. We also have a filter made of HEPA rated material known as VF6000. This filter is best recommended for picking up pollens and allergens. Lastly, we have VF7000 foam filter specifically designed only for liquid pick-ups or water-borne debris. If you have further questions or concerns, you may call Customer Service at 1-800-474-3443 from Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time or email us at info@ridgidvacs.com Thank you, RIDGID Customer Support

The wheels won’t seem to click in. Do I not just turn it upside down and push down on the wheels until they click? Only one would click down and it’s loose.

Asked by: Justinb99
Yes. They are supposed to click in, mine were very hard to get in and had to tap in with a hammer CAREFULLY without damaging wheel or holder. They were tight then. Not ideal.

To change over to wet vacuum what do I need to do

Asked by: Creekbank
Simply open the lid and remove any paper filter. i.e. bag or RIDGID type. If you have a foam filter, you can leave it however, I chose to remove it also.

I am petite with a back injury and cannot pick up over 10 pounds. I am in need of a new shop vac that I do not have to lift the motor off the top. Only I do not see the weight of this 12 gal. product. How much does it weigh? And do you sell a 6 gal?

Asked by: InjuredGirl01
The Ridgid shop vac weights about 23 Lbs. Just the motor head weights about 12 Lbs. I do not know of a shop vac with a motor on the bottom. One if the home style canister vac would have a removable bag that may work for you. We have a Kenmore that is easy to empty, that my wife uses. Dave

I am getting an electric shock every time I touch the metal canister. It’s annoying when I walk past it and my leg brushes it, shock every time. Do they all do that?? If I exchange it will the new one do that as well??

Asked by: Sammy999
I am experiencing the same issue. I was using it on carpet and thought it was just static electricity. I have had my vacuum for over a year and this is the first time I noticed it.
