Rated 3 out of 5 by from For deaf and hercules people This is not what i consider quiet at all. 77db is extremely noisy. People at ridgid must be deaf. This is as loud as any portable air compressor. There are much quieter air compressors of that size out there. Anything above 68db is loud nowadays. 4.5 gal is also small, you may be able to remove some lug nuts but 1 wheel time and slooowly.. don't rush and you have to pulse it. The two valves underneath are hard to reach, you need to lift the compressor to access the condensation valves... Out of the box, you will get the compressor, and.. NOTHING ELSE. Some compressors out there often come with atleast a coil hose.. not this compressor. This one come with nothing. NOTHING. And this is quite heavy too.. sure tou can carry this downstaire or upstaire. But the handle is strangely located.. on the side.. usefull if you need to store it under some low cabinet, But it is not well balanced while carrying it... The 5.1 cfm @ 90 psi is the reason i wanted to try this thing.. to do some lug nut and slow speed. Since i only change tires twice a year, i don't need anything overkill in my tiny garage. I needed something very compact and small ..but something with enough power to run an impact wrench. This is not meant to run impact wrench but you can do some lug nut if you do it slowly by pulsing your wrench rather than a full press. Because of the excessive noise, i do not recommend this unit.. i will give 3 stars only because it is compact and strong enough for light impact wrench use. Losing 2 stars because it is very loud, no coil hose supplied, a bit too heavy. I think im going to return it to the store.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The compressor works well, the fact it goes to 200psi... The compressor works well, the fact it goes to 200psi is a bonus, although it takes a minute longer to air up from empty than my other 4 gallon one that only goes to 125psi, but that only makes sense with the added pressure. It comes with universal connectors so you can plug both types of air chucks into it. Only thing is it’s kinda loud. It’s quiet compared to say a jet engine, but my oil lubed one is quieter. Overall I’m happy with it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good compressor - can't register with ridgid The compressor is relatively quiet, you know for a compressor, not a mouse. The extra psi makes up for the smaller tank. It is heavy, handle does help and is portable if you can sling around 60+ lbs. I got it via curbside pickup at my local homedepot. The curbside receipt does not have the data on it that ridgid expects for registering the product. So I have failed to register item. Contacted RIDGID 2 weeks ago no response. Calling them up no use either. So practically registration warranty is nothing. Hope it doesn't break.

Can this compressor be used with an impact wrench to remove wheele nuts?

    Asked by: Pete
Yes, you will be able to use the compressor to remove wheel nuts, just like the previous responses there will be a recharge delay as the compressor will need to refill.

Why do the tanks have an expiry date?

    Asked by: Paul J
This is my best guess but because the tanks are constantly pressurized when in use that the cylinder over time deteriorates inside. Especially because moisture is trapped inside. Over time they can become weak and there's a chance to start to leak or even explode(extremely unlikely but possible).
