Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough job Tough saw I am doing a extensive remodel, the master bath alone consumed almost 22 cases of tile(12x12, mosaic, 2x2) and I still have the guest and hall bath to do. This saw with all the adjustments, are quick and easy use, the red laser for aligning the cuts saves time and money and makes a huge job very manageable. I would recommend this saw to anyone with any size project. The frustration factor, misscuts, and waste are all but eliminated. When I figured the price of the unit as part of the project cost it was very reasonable. I've owned other wet saws and they were for the most part were very frustrating costing me $time, $waste and $money. As a bonus when your tile jobs is complete, you can swap out the blade and start cutting pavers, stepping stones, or any other kind of masonry. Very Pleased

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Professionals beware I don't normally write tool reviews but I felt I had to warn professionals about this one. When I bought this saw 3-1/2 years ago I loved it, great saw and I especially liked the folding stand although the original blade was poor quality so it was immediately replaced. 6 months into use the laser stopped working which didn't really bother me but within a year the stand was rusting pretty bad and after the second Ridgid water pump went bad I fixed the problem with a commercial grade garden pond pump. During the last 6 months of use the sliding table started showing more and more play to the point it took time and effort to make a straight cut. I am a pro tile setter with 35 years of experience and take care of my tools. This saw replaced a MK saw which lasted 14 years, now granted this Ridgid cost $400.00 less than my Mk so maybe you get what you pay for but I expected to get more than 3-1/2 years of use. For the average Harry homeowner this saw might be a good value, for the professional not so much.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really nice little saw My son in law and I went together to get this saw when we built his block patio. It's not to hard to assembly if you take your time and follow the instructions. We have used it to cut tile, concrete patio pavers, brick and stone. It has worked quite well on all our jobs. We are not pro's, just DIY'ers. The secrete is to match the correct blade to the material. The saw has plenty of power. Our neighbor borrowed it to face his crib wall with artificial stone and liked it so much, he bought one for himself. We have had it for about 3 years now and have had no trouble with it. It has worked very well for us.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great portable saw Very happy with this purchase. I made my research before buying and the reviews for this saw were right on target. I really don't use the laser at all, isn't needed. I had it for almost 2 years and is still working like the first day. I have done 5 floor installations (porcelain and travertine) and 2 complete bathrooms, including their showers, in travertine ALL WITH THE SAME BLADE that came with the saw. It's just amazing. Perfect cut every time. I cannot find any negative element about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love this tile saw with laser. this is a very nice tile saw for the money, love the laser guide. it makes tile cutting a breeze. I used this saw to cut 12x24 sized marble tile - it did great. easy mitre cuts. it is tough to get a perfect cut into corners without using another tool, but I really loved using this saw and very glad I bought it. setting up the stand could have been easier - but once set up, it didn't disapoint.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good saw but.... Read lots of reviews and in terms of ease of assembly and good cutting ability and I definitely concur with the positive reports. The tray slides smoothly and the blade is strong. I was cutting 1/2" marble subway tile and it cuts through it very easily. I am excited to know that this saw is also capable of cutting driveway stones but I have yet to attempt. Unfortunately I also have three negatives to report. First, while smooth, the tray does have just a tiny bit of play which makes it challenging to make a perfect precision cut every time, especially when cutting subway tiles fixed to a mesh backing. Secondly, and more importantly, the water pump that came with the unit was defective from the box. I tinkered with it for an hour before concluding it was defective and returned it to the store. After getting a second pump, it too wasn't working properly so back it went. Finally, on a THIRD trip back to HD, (and a full day lost) I was given a functioning pump. The only other issue I can complain about was related to a jamming that occurred when I set the saw up to make a 45* corner cut. While in the 45* position, a tiny screw found on the underside of the motor support arm must have vibrated out of position, and when I went to set it back to 90*, it was preventing the saw from going upright. The screw was tiny and it is very difficult to see on the underside of the arm when the saw is assembled (and isn't referred to in the accompanying literature) so it again set me back considerable time to trouble-shoot. All in all, I am very happy with the unit now that it is up and running and I would not give it less than a 4 despite these issues, particularly if you take the price into consideration (paid $299).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Right Tool for the Job I am a fairly experienced DIYer and I recently bought a house that was in need of a flooring renovation. I chose this saw primarily because of the good reviews and that it was able to accommodate a large rip length, since I would be using 16x16 tile installed diagonally. I had previously borrowed a "bargain tool store" wet tile saw to try to do large diagonal cuts and found out quickly that I needed a more capable saw. The features on this saw made my job of approximately 1000 sq. ft. a breeze. It was able to easily handle large rip lengths and both the laser and miter guide made the diagonal cuts simple and accurate. I also really like the design of the water tray with "filters" to prevent debris from being recirculated and/or damaging the pump. It also makes cleaning and refilling the water much easier than other wet saws. The "cleaning" hose is also amazingly useful and a feature I didn't realize I even needed until using, but it really helps to quickly clean the table. If there are any negatives it would be that the supplied blade does seems to chip frequently. If this starts to happen just replace it with a high quality one and you will be fine. As mentioned by most reviewers, the instructions aren't the best but the picture on the box is really all you should need to put it together. Overall you can tell that a lot of attention to detail was put into this saw, as it has many features I didn't even realize I needed until using this saw. I've finished my flooring and now I'm on to a bathroom remodel. I have recommended this to all my friends considering medium to large tiling projects. I am a very big believer in having the right tool for the job, and this was well worth the money and definitely the right tool for the job!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from assembly I do like the saw and it folds up nice for easy storage. I am not a contractor but this is my second saw. I decided to move up in grade and am satisfied for my DIY projects. I have read a lot of complaints on assembly and I can relate to that. I would like to add to what I did to the forum and it may be helpful to some. I would look at the directions scratch my head and then look at the picture on the box..Worked very well for me. I could follow the directions much more easy that way and assembly was close to an hour. I hope this can help some one out.

The nut holding the blade loosens when cutting ?

Asked by: steve
your blade is not tight enough. retighten the blade on the saw, and it should work fine. refer to the manual for detailed instructions of how to do this - but basically, you use the wrench that came with the saw that is to be held on the saw assembly, and torque tighten the nut on the saw blade until it is tight.
