The RIDGID 19 Litre (5 Gallon) Ash Vacuum Cleaner is designed to clean ash debris and other fine dusts. This ash vac has a powerful 3 peak horsepower motor that provides superior suction during dust collection. The non-stick HEPA media filter system prevents ash from passing into exhaust air stream (be sure to regularly clean and correctly re-install the filter system to avoid any dust escaping). The rugged 29-gauge steel drum construction is made for heavy-duty use. The metal-lined hose and the included metal accessories are designed to safely clean ash and debris in pellet stoves, chimneys, barbecue grills, and more. The 8 ft. (2.4 m) power cord wraps around the carry handle for storage, and caster wheels with on-board storage for accessories provide excellent mobility across a variety of surfaces. The RIDGID ash vac is for dry pick-up of cool debris only (up to 50C / 122F in temperature), and should not be used for liquid or water collection.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good at all I am an avid fan of Ridgid products. However I purchased the Ridgid Ash Canister vacuum thinking I would not have to use my Ridgid shop vacuum to clean my pellet stove. Like other purchasers of this product, the suction is poor. After a first usage of the vacuum, you notice significant reduction in suction. After about 5 usages of vacuuming, I have to take the vacuum apart, empty about 1" of ash and thorough clean the air filter, filter cage and the canister itself. Ridgid really under engineer this vacuum and its performance shows this to be true. I cannot recommend this vacuum to a prospective buyer looking for an ash vacuum. I would suggest you purchase the Ridgid 4 gal 5.0 HP wet/dry shop vacuum. Along with the vacuum, purchase the air filter and the appropriate size vacuum bags. The suction is far greater and you empty the vacuum far less. The only caveat is to make sure there are no glowing embers in the ash. Glowing embers will cause the vacuum bag to burn a whole through it while vacuuming. Hope this was helpful to folks
