Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don’t Need A Dust Collector After scouring the internet and researching whether or not to buy an actual dust collector, I opted to pick up the Ridgid 6.0 vacuum. Since the largest dust port I have is only a 2” on my miter saw, I felt the 4” port on a dust collector would essentially be overkill. And I think I was right! I know I wasn’t wrong getting the Ridgid instead!! It’s far exceeded my expectations, although I did upgrade to the Hepa filter before first use to aid in eliminating as much of the fine airborne dust as possible. If you’re thinking of using a shop vacuum for your home shop, think about getting this one. It does work!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works, but a bit worrisome I bought this at the end of November 2020, and am writing this review after having used it mainly to collect wood chips from my thickness planer. It does its job perfectly well, the only issue being every time after I use the vacuum, after turning it off and unplugging it, I get a pretty large shock when I touch the steel drum (to the point that I can see electricity arc from the drum to my finger sometimes). This is more than a little worrisome, considering it's a wet/dry vacuum and to my understanding it isn't wise to mix water and electricity. Also to my understanding, there is no reason that the drum should be building up a charge, static or otherwise.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Freedom in cordless! Great product! Easy assembly, great suction power, and freedom of cordless! Picks up small pebbles that my 16 gallon can’t. I have two 6ah batteries and I get a little over 45 minutes of use. Unfortunately, when I tried to get the 8ah batteries, I could not find them anywhere! I need the long life because my back yard is wooden decking and brick. I would have scored five stars if I was able to purchase what I needed. I went with the 6ahs because I could not wait. My daughter’s wedding reception was that weekend! I sure wish I could return the two 6ah for two 8ah. I hope customer care can accommodate my request. I will write another review on what happens next!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazingly good One of the things I love most about this shop vacuum is its impressive performance. It tackles both wet and dry messes with ease, making quick work of spills, sawdust, and debris. Whether I'm cleaning up after a woodworking project or handling a household mess, this vacuum gets the job done efficiently every time. In addition to its powerful suction, the vacuum is incredibly versatile. It comes with a variety of attachments and accessories that make it easy to clean in tight spaces, corners, and hard-to-reach areas. The extension wands, crevice tool, and brush attachments have been especially handy for tackling different cleaning tasks around my workshop and garage.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lots of leaks I've used several packs of these bags over the last few months for renovations and they're not great. The ends leak on roughly half of the bags I've used letting lots of debris out of the bags to clog the filter. I have taken to duct taping those seams closed at both ends of the bag and will probably try a different brand next. I brought this up to Ridgid who sent me a new pack, but otherwise seemed uninterested in the issue. My only guess as to the reason is hooking the vacuum up to anything creating hot particles (i.e. concrete saw) is weakening the seams on the bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely pleased Bought this a few months ago and I am using it in a dust collection system. The hose for connecting it to the various stations is about 12 feet long and is connected to a home made cyclone. Even with all that distance the power at the nozzle will suck the chrome off a trailer hitch

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DOES NOT FIT RIDGID VACUUM HD09001 The package falsely claims that it fits HD0900 series, however it does not fit in model HD09001. See photos. Honestly, what are they thinking? Just label the package correctly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fv3503 dust bags I notice another review where the customer has the same issue I’m having. These bags 3503 are NOT very well designed to fit on the Hd09001. The card board hole is the same size as the inlet port(2 1/2). To install them you have to mangle the opening to get it to go on the way the instructions call for. Garbage. Emerson’s response is call customer service, why? They will not admit to the flaw. Save your money and buy a 10 pack on Amazon, with the proper size opening.

I am getting an electric shock every time I touch the metal canister. It’s annoying when I walk past it and my leg brushes it, shock every time. Do they all do that?? If I exchange it will the new one do that as well??

Asked by: Sammy999
I am experiencing the same issue. I was using it on carpet and thought it was just static electricity. I have had my vacuum for over a year and this is the first time I noticed it.

I just bought this vacuum used and replaced it with a brand new filter. The hose is plugged into the vacuum port and when I turn it on it blows out the blow port A LOT. Makes it counterintuitive for cleaning up a shop. Is this normal?

Asked by: Kyralm
No it’s not normal to my understanding. It sounds like something is plugged. Check all hoses for debris and so on.

How do I prevent it from blowing? I have the wand attached to the correct spot on the bottom but when I turn it on it’s constantly shooting air out the blow hole on the top? creating a bigger mess for me cleaning dust..

Asked by: Korey
It's a "in and out" thing. The air input has to go somewhere because it would explode your vacuum. For my part, i try to keep the vac as far as I can to pickup my mess. You could put another hose at the exit of your vac, and keep it further.

I have the NXT 53L 6HP model currently and am looking to buy another one. Can you tell me if this one is any quieter by chance?? Also, will the auto detailing hose fit this model?

Asked by: MarkStrewgs
I can't tell you if it is any quieter than your current vacuum (it's a vacuum, they're all noisy!), but you can buy a muffler for it which helps a bit (SKU # 1000146899). Also,I did buy the car cleaning kit (SKU # 1000527675) and yes it does fit.

Is there an adapter for connecting my ridgid 5” R26011 sander to this vacuum?

Asked by: Orton
I honestly don’t recall however I did buy the car kit at the same time and I hook my vacuum up to almost everything I use. Hopefully this helps a little

Can I use the Rigid 9-gallon Cordless shop-vac both in my shop and my home. I have some pre-sales questions below: #1. Can I use 3rd party heads? What size is the hose on the wand where the cleaning heads attach? #2. Can it be used as a blower?

Asked by: PeterO
Dear PeterO, Thank you for your questions! Yes, you may use this particular vacuum both for your shop and your home. Generally, our RIDGID wet/dry vacs can be used for anything that is not toxic or hazardous in the environment. Also, this vacuum has a built-in blower feature. To make it work, you will need to attach the hose on the blower port located at the back side of the lid near the cord entry, plug the unit and turn it on. Additionally, this vacuum comes with 1-7/8-inch accessories and hose. Please take note that we only suggest you use RIDGID accessories as we can't confirm compatibility of the accessories from other manufacturers. If you have further questions, please call our Customer Service at 1-800-474-3443 from Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time or send us an email at info@ridgidvacs.com and we'll be glad to assist you. The wheels won’t seem to click in. Do I not just turn it upside down and push down on the wheels until they click? Only one would click down and it’s loose.

Asked by: Justinb99
Hello Justinb99, Thanks for writing a review and we’re sorry to have learned about your difficulties in assembling the vac. On the bottom of the caddy, there are two holes. This is where the wheels should go into. I suggest you try to assemble the caster to the caddy first before attaching the foot to the bottom of the drum. This would allow you to apply more pressure when pressing it together. You need to insert the metal stem of caster wheel into the center hole and push and twist it on it until it snaps all the way inside the socket. You will hear a popping sound as a sign that the caster is already locked in place. You can also use a rubber mallet to assemble the caster to the foot. If you have questions or concerns, you may call our Customer Service at 1-800-474-3443 from Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time or send us an email at info@ridgidvacs.com and we'll be glad to assist you. Thanks, RIDGID
