When I installed the bag through the inlet tip/nozzle, the bag was torn off where the tip contact. I had to use pipe adhesive tape to mend it, but seemed not effective.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good shop vac Good shop vac with plenty of power. Hose larger than anticipated and sometimes hard to handle. Wheels need to be bigger so they don't hang up so much on debris common to a work area.

Hhaving problems with caster/caster foot assembly. Directions difficult to follow.

Asked by: Cathy79
Hello Cathy79, Thank you for your feedback and we're sorry for the inconvenience. On the bottom of the caster foot there are two holes, one in the nipple or stem that slides in the vac and the other in the near center of the foot. The center hole (looks like a spider web) is the hole that the wheels go into. We suggest that you try to assemble the caster and foot first before attaching the foot to the bottom of the drum so that you can apply more pressure by pressing it against the floor as you go. If the caster foot is pre-installed to the bottom of the drum, you can remove it first by stepping on it while lifting the drum up. Once removed, insert the metal stem of the caster into the caster foot, try to rotate and push it in at the same time with your whole body weight into it. When you hear a clicking sound, it is the sign that the wheel is already locked in place. You may also use a rubber mallet to make sure you attached it thoroughly. If you have further questions or concerns, you may call Customer Service at 1-800-474-3443 from Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time or email us at info@ridgidvacs.com Thank you, RIDGID Customer Support

How do I change the filter??

Asked by: iamron
Hello iamron, Thanks for asking. To remove the filter, Hold the filter tabs of the Qwik Lock™ filter in each hand.. With one thumb on the Qwik Lock™ stud, which protrudes through the integrated filter plate, lift up on the filter tabs while pushing down on the stud. This action will cause the filter to release from the filter cage. Slide filter off cage. To install it back, Carefully slide the Qwik Lock™ filter over the filter cage and press down on the outside edge of the filter until the rubber gasket on the bottom of the filter seats securely around the base of the filter cage and against the lid. Align the small center hole in the top of the filter over the Qwik Lock™ stud on the filter cage. Press firmly on top of the filter near the stud to allow the filter to snap over the ball on the end of the stud. You may call our Customer Service at 1-800-474-3443 from Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time or send us an email at info@ridgidvacs.com and we'll be glad to assist you. How do you know when the vacuum bag #VF3502

Asked by: Am I full
Hello RIDIGD Customer, Thanks for your inquiry! There are many ways a user can detect if a filter dust bag is already full. You can do visual inspection. Turn off the vacuum, lift the power head and check the content pf the bag. A reduced suction is also an indication that the bag is full. When this happens, we suggest you check the filter bag or replace it. Lastly, when the vacuum starts to develop a higher than normal pitch sound, it could also be another sign. If you need further guidance or information about this, you may call our Customer Service at 1-800-474-3443 from Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time or send us an email at info@ridgidvacs.com and we'll be glad to assist you. Thanks, RIDGID

why does my VAC12000 not have strong suction? trying to vacuum up water and it will not do the job

Asked by: GiGi Gulley
Hello GiGi Gulley, We’re sorry to learn your issue with the vac. It usually occurs if you’re picking up large volume of water with the filter installed. As stated in the owner’s manual, you can use the pleated paper filter for small amounts of liquid pickup. For large amounts, the filter must be removed to avoid suction loss and water misting from the exhaust port. If you have further questions or concerns, you may call Customer Service at 1-800-474-3443 from Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time or email us at info@ridgidvacs.com Thank you, RIDGID Customer Support

For the Ridgid WD16400 Wet/Dry Vac, what is the correct size/diameter of adapter to purchase for connecting to benchtop tools such as a miter saw, which may have a nozzle that is 1.5" ID? Thank you!

Asked by: FixIt2
I'm sorry that I don't know the answer, but the Ridgid home office should be able to answer that question for you, I don't know whether you are having the same experience as I am, but my vac leaks air and dust back into the space around it when in use. This is very unacceptable when using it inside a building where one is trying to clean up, not mess up.
