I had a hard time finding side rods that were long enough, and this one fit my window area perfectly. It is sturdy and easy to put together, but the directions are a bit confusing.

My only complaint would be that the screws that come with it weren't all that and a bag of potato chips. I had a couple strip so I stopped using them and used my own screws. Easy enough fix so I gave 5 stars.

Hi, It really depends on what type of curtains you are going with. Grommeted panels may be able to traverse over the connectors. A rod -pocket style curtain could be pulled over the connector and remain in a static position. Hope this helps.
