Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great awning! Purchased this awning to replace on older one. Was very impressed that the day after ordering, Rolltec called and went over the order. They gave the option of having the crank on the left side, which was better for our situation. Also, offered as an upgrade to have the metal beige instead of white, which we took, and it looks great! The order also came quicker than we were told which may have been because we ordered early in the Spring. If you are going to install this yourself, as a homeowner, I would suggest 3 people to lift it into place and to use a scaffold for surer footing. The unit is quite heavy. Cranking the awning in and out is done with little effort and it's easy to see why Rolltec is at the top of the heap when it comes to making these.

The description say " 10 ft projection", but in the specs it says "awning length rolled out, 3 feet". What does that mean? Is there only three feet of shade protection? Many thanks, kelly

10' projection is the correct measurement. This would be the length of the fabric. Depending on the slope you set, horizontal coverage will be few inches less.

Can you adjust tilt as well as projection length? for the brackets, how high must the backing board be? 9.5" or more? or less?

The slope of the awning is adjustable at the time of installation. In terms of projection, you can stop the awning anywhere you like before full extension. If you are ordering the awning without the hood cover, you can use 2"x8" header. With the hood cover 2"x10".

In the picture of this product it shows some kind of all weather metal (?) cover Rain, I assume. Does the awning come with this cover?

You are referring to a protective hood cover. Hood is made of aluminum and meant to keep the fabric cleaner and protect the frame from the elements. Hood is sold separately. Sku # for 12' hood is 1000705779.
