Not ALMOST Impossible to Remove without DamageABSOLUTELY will tear apart your drywall - nothing you can't patch but get it right the first time. I found that I couldn't always rely on the 12" measurement in the instructions - and so always used a two-foot level placed on the shelf after securing the back to the wall. A #8 screw and washer will hold the support in an #8-10 anchor at the bottom if you do make a mistake and have to move it - because you can't reuse the bit of plastic that is supposed to be an anchor.
There are other systems that I would use that wouldn't block access to lower shelves - but this is the one my builder used so we re-sectioned it and used it in the utility closet, storage room and pantry - so we could put something better in our clothes closets. Will certainly work for the purposes we're putting it to - though it takes some time to fit items into storage (these brackets do get in the way and divide the shelf beneath).
I wouldn't necessarily recommend this product - but it does hold very firmly and safely - it just doesn't allow me to use the space as efficiently as some other systems might. Space use is something everyone must judge for themselves.
