Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great top coat over stencil painting There were many negative reviews, which made me nervous, but this top coat worked great over a wall I stenciled with latex paint. I'm guessing many people didn't let their paint cure before applying. Like most spray paint products, you need to wait a few days before applying the top coat or the gases from the paint will cause problems. Also, spray painting is hard to do when you want even coverage. It takes practice to get it right. I'm still not great at even coverage, but it came out pretty good this time. Wanted to add a positive review for those on the fence.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing Colour! I bought this paint because I was redoing some wooden wall hangings. It is true to colour and looks amazing when finished. Not too overwhelming, quite neutral for a pink. The only negatives I have is that I did have to use quite a few coats to get full coverage, and the fact that the container seems to get quite messy all around the finger pad with normal upright spraying. But other than that the final outcome was exactly what I expected if not more.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a complete Yes!! I just bought this today. I refinish furniture and I was tired using wax. So decide to try this spray..but look too good to be true.. anyway I will try in other piece to see if I have better results. Wasn't so easy..like always sprays sometimes need to be very perfect in the aplication. I aplied in 2 different little pieces one white and the other blue (chalk paint base) in the white one was better because you can't see the imperfections, in the blue one, I notice more shine and like pores. For me doesn't work and what a shame. I attached some pics. Just after the application and when it is dry. Maybe I recommended just for little pieces..not for a dresser or something big. The surface was smooth ..but not so much like when you sand and apply wax.. Also I don't know how can you fix it in case you put so much tipically when you use spray..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing Granted I didn't use this on top of chalk paint, I used it to finish a dresser that I had painted in Behr satin finish paint. It did come out matte, coverage didn't seem great though, even though I applied a few coats purposely overlapping there was distinct banding. This is only noticeable in harsh light. It's worked well to seal the paint, no chipping or scratching, however it gets a whopping one star for the fact that it's impossible to keep clean. Dust shows easily on light colored paint, even just standing a picture frame or other decorative object leaves little dirt scuffs which I can only remove using baking soda and water (wiping down with water alone doesn't seem to work, it's like the matte is too coarse so dust gets trapped in the finish). Overall I'm not impressed.

I sprayed it over top of dry Rustoluem white chalk paint and it caused large patches of the paint to crackle and distort. It wrecked the project I was working on and made me late on a deadline. Never will I use this product again and neither should you - don't waste your time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not recommend First off, the colour is much lighter and brighter than advertised. Secondly, it is runny so if the paint accumulates anywhere down the sides of something you spray (in my case, cutout wood lettering) it globs up. Third, it bubbles/generates air bubbles somehow. Maybe I’m just used to higher quality spray paint but this was frustrating to work with and sanded and recoated so many times and ultimately had to sand down and spray over with a different brand. I wish I could get my money back for this.

Clear appliqué après 3 jours de séchage ou tout de suite après. Dans tous les cas, ça craque. Très mauvaise peinture. En plus, elle ne couvre pas. Prend plusieurs canettes à 20$ pour un seul meuble. is this good for out side on plywood///

Hi BARNY, Our Chalked Ultra Matte Paint is for interior surfaces only. The coating will not hold up when applied to exterior surfaces and will soon crack and peel off. It is also not UV stable and will yellow outdoors.

i want to use this spray on glass light shades on my vanity light fixture, should this be ok with the heat from the light bulb

Hi Joan, As long as the surface temperature does not exceed 180-200 degrees Fahrenheit, you should be OK. We recommend testing on a small area first.

Will this work on fabric and can it be put in the wash?

Hi Tiffany, Great question! Our Chalked Matte Paint is not recommended for fabric as it dries hard and will not be able to flex with the movement of any fabric. Plus it will not hold up when washed. Unfortunately, we have nothing to recommend.
