Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor results I am a fan of Painters Touch products, especially the 2x spray paints. However this particular paint did not apply well. Half way through the can started spraying white powder instead of liquid paint. Followed instructions to the T. Indoors, vented with no blowing air near the piece, 22C, well shaken, etc... Because the powder sprayed onto wet paint I had to wait for the paint to dry and then sanr / strip the paint off. Had to throw the rest of the can away so i went with a different paint to avoid the repeating the same problem. Waste of money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Be sure to read the instructions! I became a fan of Painter's Touch when I used it to replace a competitor's product that I had to use solvent to remove from an aluminum door on an RV. The other product would not adhere and left sags and blotches. The Painter's Touch went on evenly and, more importantly, stayed on, and covered beautifully. That's why I was a little disappointed when I used the spray version on the front of the RV where the factory finish was pretty much gone from twenty years of sandblasting from being towed all over the continent in all kinds of weather. My first attempt left the dry, greyish, sandy patches that other reviewers (possibly on the American Home Depot site - can't remember) had mentioned. Rustoleum, the manufacturer replied; it seemed the paint was drying before it hit the surface, something which can be caused by excessive wind and heat, both of which are mentioned on the label, both of which I experienced, and both of which I ignored, because I was in a hurry and didn't want to wait for a cooler, wind-free day! Fortunately the clean-up was a simple wiping with a bit of #400 wet sandpaper and waiting for the proper conditions. My second attempt provided beautiful results! Still a fan of the product. Something to keep in mind: the brush-on version of Painter's Touch is a latex product, the spray version is not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great paint product I used it to paint cardboard for my son's project and it worked wonderfully. Can't believe how much paint it had as I thought I would need more but it did the job. It has a very strong (could be dangerous too) smell though so just make sure you have proper face mask to cover your face and glasses to cover your eyes for protection.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from bad streaking After 4 coats its still not a solid flat black. No matter how you put it on 10" or 16" fast or slow with ups and downs, side to side. It leaves a wavey uneven paint job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Refresh the look of garden chairs It’s easy to spray on and looks great. I used it to cover damaged areas and to bring back the lustre of 25-yrs old wick garden chairs. The end result: they look as if they were new

I have a painted white brick fireplace that needs some refreshing. Could I use this product to spray on the brick?

Asked by: Erin
You can use the painter's touch but if it is indoors, you would have to protect the rest of the house from the over spray

Can this product be used to paint a laminate countertop?

Asked by: Nicole
Hi Nicole, We recommend our Countertop Transformations Kits instead. We do not believe our Painter's Touch will hold up overtime on a laminate countertop.

Can you use to paint plastic outdoor shutters?

Asked by: Jeff17
Hi Jeff17, There are some plastics that prevent proper adhesion from products like our Painter's Touch. For smooth surfaces, sand with 220 grit after cleaning. Priming with Bulls Eye 123 will also help with adhesion.

It says on the label,'wood, metal, wicker, and more'. What is more? Is there anything that you can't spray with this paint?  Will it cover plastic?

Asked by: jannie96
My guess is that it won't unless the surface on the plastic has been sanded or roughed up. Then it might stick, it needs something to adhere to. If not then it will dry and just peel or flake off over time as plastic has a slippery surface and is oil based. Hope that helps- Cheers.

Can I use outside on acrylic?

Asked by: cris
Hi Cris, Unfortunately, we do not test with other manufacturers of paint. That being said, as long as the acrylic has dried sufficiently (cured fully), there shouldn't be an issue. However, it is always best to test on an inconspicuous area first.
