Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good little spray can We wanted to spray our golden fireplace to a black matted colour. This aerosol spray can sprayed everything every evenly and accurately. There was more than enough paint for our project. It also dries really quickly which allows us to make it a quick weekend project.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from FLAT not SATIN Item title and description specifically say a "SATIN" finish. Totally false. The finish is flat as flat can be. I wanted satin for durability. Flat paints are notorious for showing every little fingerprint or rub mark...Painted the exterior of our gas fireplace and I can see every little finger print (shows up as satin ironically) or mark from where I gently rubbed with a cloth. A total waste of money, and worse....all my time which is worth much more than a few cans of paint.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked well Worked great. Used this to cover the brass on our fireplace. Looks so much better. Took a couple coats but worked well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well on firepit. Works well on my dbl walled firepit, where the paint was not used on metal directly heated by the fire.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor spray nozzle I bought 5 cans of this paint to refurbish my outdoor fireplace. Out of the 3 cans I used every one had a defective spray nozzle that constantly sprayed large drips of paint. I consider myself an experienced painter and have never seen such poor nozzles before. Paint coverage is good, just be aware that the finish is flat no lustre whatsoever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Got the job done This product did a good job. I inherited a fire table but the metal had gotten worn and rusty over the years, so I sanded off some of the rust and sprayed it with this paint and you'd have a hard time telling the table is almost ten years old. I'm very happy with the product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible coverage -- don't go with this one. Use two cans to spray a fire pit -- looked great for about a week and then it started to chip from the weather -- don't bother with this one.

Can I use it for inside of my oven?

Asked by: Tami
Hi Tami, We do not recommend our High Heat Enamel for the inside of your oven as it will not be able to hold up to the amount of heat it will be exposed to. Unfortunately, we only offer High Heat enamels for the exterior of appliances and nothing for the interior. We hope this new information is helpful.

Asked by: tim1601

Hello! I want to paint the brass grates and door trim around my gas fireplace black. They are not in direct contact with flames. Do I need the high heat version or just the regular? Do I need to prime first? Do I need to rough up the surface first?

Asked by: MareBear
Hi MareBear, Our regular paint coatings that are not high heat, can withstand up to 180F. If the surface temperature does not exceed that when the gas fireplace is on, then you do not require a high heat coating. If the surface is too hot and exceeds this temperature when the fireplace is on, you will require our High Heat Enamel. No primer is required. Brass does have a surface coating that does need to be removed first however. Use a steel brush to remove this coating and wipe away any sanding dust prior to the application.

What high heat spray paint would you recommend for a metal propane fire pit? It is not used for cooking food and does get rusty.

Asked by: Duncan26
I am not using it for cooking equipment, but it is working for the temperature high metal surface. I think for BBQ outside surface is fine.

can this be applied to a stove hood where the grease is being filtered?

Asked by: ferndog
Hi ferndog. Our High Heat Enamel can be applied to a stove hood. Make sure to clean the surface really well to remove any grease buildup that has risen up to filter through.

Can this be used inside a microwave

Asked by: Rita
Hi Rita, We do not recommend our High Heat for the inside of your microwave. It is designed for the exterior of appliances only. We suggest reaching out to the manufacturer of the microwave to see if they have a paint to recommend.

We are looking to touch up the inside of our electric fireplace where some silver metal is showing through theflat black upper metal guard (top section that is not in direct contact with flame). Would this paint be suitable for this application?

Asked by: Ryan
I painted the outside of our fireplace that was brass and the paint has held up very well

can this be used to paint aluminum window and door trim (aka capping/flashing). We have green (color of aluminum not paint) on our house in great condition. I would sand down (or etch) and have it ready for paint. Would this work??

Asked by: taryn
Hi Taryn, We do not recommend this paint for your application. It will never fully dry as it needs the high heat to cure. It was designed for stoves, fire pits, etc. We recommend trying our Tremclad Rust paints which are better suited for your project.
