Rated 4 out of 5 by from Product and application. YOU CANNOT PAINT OR ROLL ON this product!!! For a smooth tile like finish you must apply this product with a spray gun!!!! Due to its very milky consistency. I know, all the Youtube videos show people rolling it on... but believe me, this product is actually formulated and designed to be sprayed. They have changed the product. You will also need 2 boxes for a small shower stall, 3 boxes for a stall with a bathtub, and 4-5 boxes for a bathroom that is fully tiles. Because multiple coats must be applied, it is best to buy more boxes, and if not needed, returned them later.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from There are worse things than pink tile Disappointed. HUGE prep- which I followed to the letter- but not happy with results. First coat was smooth, but didn't cover much. Second coat (applied after recommended dry time) was thick and sticky and results were terrible. Still some of accent tile colours showing through. I didn't get any peeling but some areas bubbled. These covered up with the second coat. Salvage procedure- going to try to sand once cured and try third coat? Hopefully to attempt to smooth it out some and get better coverage. Wasn't expecting a miracle- it is a DIY shortcut, but certainly falls short of what is advertised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from it works! Preparation is key to make this paint work. Heres what I did on my steel tub.. Cover shower and faucet with small garbage bag or similar. Remove tub drain (the silver metal thing) Remove overflow cover Wash tub to remove soap scum and oils. I particularly used a scotch brite and ZEP orange cleaner to do this job. Make sure all caulking is removed. Lightly sand the tub and make sure all loose paint are removed. Use damp microfiber cloth to clean tub after sanding. Use another dry microfiber to remove dampness of the tub. Mix paint and apply. I used a cloth roller and foam brush to paint. I waited 1.5 hours before reapplying the second coat. (Note.. normal coating on the side and heavier coating on the floor). Make sure the sanded parts are covered with paint evenly. (The hotter the weather the better. The paint will dry quicker.) Caulked the 2nd day. I waited 5 days to dry.. Reinstall overflow cover and drain. It will be not as smooth as a paint spray but I saved 400$ in hiring a professional re-glace

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product if you have a lot of patience This product does a good job and makes things look new and fresh but it is EXTREMELY finicky. Your work area and surface must be 100% dust free. I had to restart the process from scratch a few times because contaminants didn't allow the paint to stick. It was a bit of a nightmare, but if you have the time, it will still save you a lot of $ from having to rip out the old and install new tiles/tubs/etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked wonders on cast iron tub. I used this to refinish a very old Clawfoot Tub and it worked wonders. When you mix the two components together, it feels very watery, but once you start to apply it to the tub, it evens out and thickens up for a clean finish. Brought my tub back to life. I patched some chips in the iron using JB epoxy filler and followed up with this afterwards.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t waste your money. Bought this product 3 times and tried everything. Tried with a high quality brush, tried with a foam roller and just tried with a special roller recommended by Home Depot and all 3 results were identical. I wiped the tub with acetone, got bubbles. Sanded everything down and this time I wiped the tub with Xylene as recommended. Bubbles, lots of bubbles. Terrible results. Will be trying a competitors product. Still cheaper than buying a new tub.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bubbling and inconsistent self-levelling Despite meticulously following the instructions and with extra care in preparation the final product was awful. Bubbling everywhere and the self-levelling properties did not seem to work at all, as the nonflat surfaces aren't smooth or consistent. I highly recommend avoiding this product at all costs, even if you follow the instructions it won't turn out well. As others have suggested I think this is intended for use with a spray gun as it will not turn out well if you use a roller, even though the Rustoleum video shows the person using one.

I have small ceramic tiles on the bottom of my shower. Can I use this there? Even over the grout? Can it be submerged underwater? Thank you

Asked by: Bigbri
Hi Bigbri, Yes, our Specialty Tub & Tile can be applied to your ceramic tiles on the bottom of your shower. The product can be submerged in water and can be applied over the grout. However, caulking and silicone must be removed prior to application. Prep is key in order for the product to adhere and last. Soap residues are not easily seen, but must be removed completely. The use of a strong abrasive detergent with an abrasive pad or steel wool is recommended. Refer to the instruction sheet for further information on prep.

My kitchen has a marble tile back splash and now is looking very bad. Does this product works on marble tiles?

Asked by: APM72
Hi APM72, We have not tested our Tub & Tile Refinishing Kit on marble tiles and do not believe it will adhere as the surface tension is too low.

Hi, we have an older steel freestanding claw tub. I'm not clear on whether this can be used on the inside of the tub to improve the surface or not. And whether another product, the etching cream is first needed to get rid of scratchs, etc?

Asked by: KMSS
Hi KMSS, Our Tub & Tile Refinishing Kit is not recommended for steel.

For a tile shower & tub refinish, does all caulking (between tub and tile wall, around fixtures) need to be removed or will this cover and adhere to everything?

Asked by: Samson212
You need to remove all caulking and any soap scum, etc. If everything is clean, you get a nice shiny durable finish. It sprays on extremely well, but you need good ventilation and a mask.

Can this be applied to a kitchen backsplash of small glass tiles?

Asked by: Wjranch
The etching compound will actually eat into the surface to allow for a good surface for the porcelain paint to adhere. The problem I foresee in your situation is how you will avoid coating the grout with the paint?

I have a one-piece acrylic tub and surround. I'd like to use this to refinish it. Will it work on the entire one-piece unit? I've heard this won't work on tub surrounds. Also, if it does work, will I need more than one kit?

Asked by: Jonathan
I believe this product will help with your bathroom, the smell is strong . You will need more than one can
