While, I am sure that this line is of exceptional quality, I purchased the Ryobi Real Easy (not so much) trimmer head with speed winder at the same time. After struggling over a few days to remove the old line head, I decided to call Ryobi for assistance (It's a male thing). The service representative informed me that I need to use a saw to cut off the red retaining piece, thus destroying what is left of my warranty before I can install the new head. This is a prime example of planned obsolescence. I have several Ryobi 18 volt tools and when they go south, I'll be sure to replace them with an alternative brand.

I used this for a community cleanup project and it worked just as good as the one that came with the trimmer. I did not have any issues advancing the line in the bumper feed head unit. Great product

I started off around the driveway and landscape timbers and it did fine. When I got to the ditch, the weed eater just bogs down. The line doesn't break, which is a plus, but it just kind of wraps around the head. I switched to (not endorsing; only making an observation) the Echo octagon shaped line and it did great. I can't say how it is in the brushless or a gas weed eater, but from my experience, it's only good for around the yard; not thick grass or weeds.

It's at least as good as any other line I have used for longevity and it seems to cut better. The big win is having the right size ready to wind up into the holder. The whole reload takes less time now than just measuring the line and cutting it did before. The time saved (and irritation avoided) is worth the small markup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Size matters when it comes to string trimmer effectiveness, and... Size matters when it comes to string trimmer effectiveness, and this 0.095" line does the job. I have everything from Bermuda grass to 4' tall weeds. Started with a 20v max trimmer (a different brand) that used 0.080" line but had to return it and trade up to the gas powered Ryobi to really get the job done. This 0.095" line lasts through about a quart-and-a-half of fuel against heavy weeds and grass. The precut 16' lengths are convenient for restringing, which is fairly straightforward with the crank handle that came with the trimmer once I got the hang of it. Don't know why the twist shape makes the string tougher, but it seems to (might be in my head). Definitely plan to buy this product again when I need it.

BUT after purchasing the trimmer, it said to use only 10-foot long 0.080. So I had to return the product. I ordered bulk Ryobi 0.080 instead.

I have a new Ryobi 40 V string trimmer and in the manual it states to use 10 feet of line but the pre-cut is 16 feet so which is it 10 feet of 16?

All I can say is that I have the 18 volt version, I use the 16' .095" string, and it looks like it have the same string spool as yours.
