Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eccellent little saw I picked up this little 7 1/4 saw because I wanted a backup while building our off grid cabin on my great grandparents home quarter. Anyhow this little saw has been going steady for 2 weeks. It has cut through everything we feed it! 2x10's 2x4's 1/2 sheets of plywood...ect! Anyone that says this saw stalls is forcing it. It has never stalled on me. This little saw cut all the 2x6's in our 22x40 cabin. Along with the 2x4's on the inside walls and a lot of the plywood for the outside outer walls. For the sheets of plywood I did switchover to a Diablo replacement blade. Other than that its a excellent little saw. My friend is a professional contractor with saws 5 times the price with high end blades. He told me that he was very impressed with this little saw. This saw has paid for itself 10 times over! For the average carpenter it's all you need!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolutely god awful The baseplate flexes so much that it's impossible to cut square. You can't properly apply pressure to the saw either. Worst circ saw I've ever been near. Usually Ryobi gives a decent product with obvious limitations due to price but they really should just not have released this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ryobi 13-Amp 7-1/4-inch Circular Saw I do not work like it and is heavy even though the box says light weight. The instruction booklet is not very good. Will never buy this brand again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tool works great, but replace the blade! As you would expect for $60, you are not going to get a high quality product, but one that will get the job done. The included blade is trash and will have serious issues for anyrhing thicker than plywood (burning, crooked cuts, etc), so replace it with a $15 Diablo 24 teeth framwrs blade (or higher count for finishing). Paired with a Diablo, this tool worked smoothly... Cuts were clean and straight. Remember, it's a $60 tool... You can't expect the included to be any good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality It gave me hard time to cut the laminate flooring.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very cheap quality, you get what you pay for The shoe is made of flimsy stamped steel and connected to the plastic housing boss with a cheap split roll pin. The thrust line of the motor and blade do not match the centerline of the shoe, effectively creating unwanted cove cuts. In short, Milwaukee should be ashamed for releasing this Ryobi product on the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good little saw for the price! I don’t know why there are so many bad reviews for this little saw - perhaps some of these people weren’t using it correctly. Previous reviews said the built in blade bent and didn’t cut well. I have a feeling that people were starting the blade against the edge of what they were cutting rather than starting the saw first and then moving into their lumber. I had no issues with unusual rattling or vibration either - I am wondering if the blade wasn’t mounted properly or the nuts weren’t put in the right positions by other users. I had bought extra blades out of concern and they never came out of the package. The default blade was more than fine to cut 2x6 beams, hardwood plywood sheets, with no issues at all! It doesn’t come with a dust guard and the little hole that acts as a dust guard ends up getting blocked as the safety guard moves over it and the saw dust speed everywhere anyway. That is okay honestly, for $60, it’s not about bells and whistles but getting the cutting done with no issue.

Can this be used to cut metal ? Need to cut a 2inch wide suspension rail made of galvanized steel

Asked by: Anvit
Hi Anvit, Thanks for reaching out to us. This 13-Amp 7-1/4-inch Circular Saw comes with a 24-teeth wood basis blade that works best with all types of soft and hard woods. To prperly cut galvanized steel, you will need to obtain a new steel blade. This circular saw will be able to get your job done with the correct blade. For more information regarding this product and our accessories, please contact 1-800-525-2579. Thanks, RYOBI Canada Team.

Can you use to cut Laminate Kitchen Countertop in Typhoon Ice?

Asked by: zn2021
I swapped out the blade for one with more teeth to get a fine cut and avoid chipping. Because a circular saw can produce jagged edges and chip the laminate, your best bet is to lay the laminate face-side down and cut from the back to the front. Mark off the line you want to cut using masking tape, and make sure to leave a bit of extra room for overhang, which you can later cut off. The best circular saw blade for cutting through laminate for a kitchen counter is one with many fine teeth. Blades with carbide tips tend to last longer than regular steel. In addition, you should choose a narrow blade, or one with thin kerf, as it's called in saw talk. Note Home depot has an Avanti Pro 7 1/4-inch x 140 Tooth Carbide Tipped Circular Saw Blade for Laminate/Wood Cutting $14.97 CD it will be worth the investment.
