Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs Better Cut Line Upgraded to this from a smaller Ryobi miter saw. This one cuts beautifully and effortlessly (I replaced the blade that came with it with a Diablo blade). My only gripe is that my previous Ryobi miter saw had a nice red laser line showing you where the cut was going to begin. This saw uses an LED light as the guide, which casts a fuzzy shadow instead of a sharp laser line. I’m finding it more difficult to be precise. Maybe it takes more experience? As a weekend warrior, I like it when things are easy. Great value for a sliding miter saw though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good saw missing pieces Good saw, pretty much ready to use out of the box. Mine was missing the piece the dust bag goes on to. Haven’t been able to get them to give me the missing piece…

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor engineering to remove blade The cut out designed and with a sticker doesn't line up with the bolt to remove the blade or swap it out. When I went back to my nearest HD the 10 & 12in miter saws both didn't line up but the 7" did. I've seen this on 3 of them and you might want to check yours if you know you'll change the blade at some point. Pictures attached it clearly says use Allen wrench that sits in the saw.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from First impression It's light and easy to maneuver. Fair price for what it is (currently in the market). I used the provided for treated wood and outdoor work so I can't really comment on the initial blade except for: "good enough".

Can it be used for ripping
Asked by: Frank
Hello Frank, This would depend on what you are ripping and now long the rip is. If the rip fits one cut on the saw it should be fine. Thanks for shopping with the Home Depot

the LED casts a shadow line that does not actually line up with where the kerf cuts the workpiece. how do i fix this?
Asked by: Peter
Peter, thank you for your interest in the RYOBI 15 Amp 10 in. Sliding Compound Miter Saw with LED. The LED lighting system casts the shadow of the blade onto the workpiece. This results in greater accuracy of cuts and requires no adjustments. To use this feature, turn the LED switch on Bring the saw arm down so the blade is approximately 1/4 in. from the workpiece. The shadow of the blade will be projected onto the workpiece, indicating where the blade teeth will make contact as the cut is made. If this is not the case you may need to take this product to a service center for diagnosis or repair. If you are within the exchange window you can make an exchange for anther product. This shadow should line up and there is not a way to adjust this. Thank you for asking, if you have further questions and would like to speak with a RYOBI Customer Experience Professional, please call, 1-800-525-2579 M-F from 9am-6pm EST. Hope this helps! - Vini

For manufacturer... this trips the gfci outlet in my garage when I use with a heavy duty extension cord. Weird thing is it doesn’t happen all of the time. It doesn’t trip the main circuit breaker. Also, I cannot use this saw when plugged into a power strip no matter what the rating is. Is this normal?
Asked by: Vet
1 It won't trip a 20amp breaker. 2 Try a different GFCI circuit with your heavy duty (minimum 15 amps) extension cord, and make sure the cord isn't coiled neatly in a circlular ring, because it can cause inductive reflections that may cause the GFCI to trip. 3 If it won't start when plugged properly to a minimum 15amp power strip, with nothing else plugged into it, then there's likely a bad wiring connection inside the saw or at its plug, which is causing a delay in the back EMF. Return the saw for warranty, and if the same thing happens, return the power strip. You didn't say what the saw does when plugged it into the power strip. Summary Older GFCI receptacles can become finicky, so you check against two. A coiled extension cord creates inductance that can actually heat the cord and steal the power. Typical for long extension cords. Also check the cord's power per distance rating. Some extension cords are constructed to avoid this, but it's best to avoid tight winding of the cord. There's typically a start capacitor to boost the saw on start. A weak connection adds resistance to the math, causing the start engineering to possibly fail. And if you make an extra HD card payment, be sure to wait until after the statement date.
