Paid $139 on sale. Cuts good, decently square right out the box, feels decent. It's worth $150 IMO. Not $220. The work clamp is worthless. Nothing holds it down. Old version had a bolt with wing nut to hold it. This one had nothing... Threw it in a drawer... Extension bars are not adjustable. You can only tighten the screws down with them out. Old version was adjustable.. Also threw these in a drawer. There is no laser like the last version. It's a shadow light that is worthless unless cutting in the dark. Be aware this saw takes up a ton of room with the slider bars sticking out the back so far.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It cuts..... Regret not spending more. So I do some woodworking on the side. Main reason I purchased this was to help me crosscut cuttingboards/signs to avoid switching my ripping blade out on my dewalt table saw. Cut it does, but does not leave a clean finish. I decided to switch out the blade a Diablo 40 tooth crosscut blade. Still the same result. Kind of like the blade wobbles, on thicker stock where two passes are required, the bottom portion is like .01 inches difference. Too much play in the plastic blade cover. Does not leave clean lines I really regret not spending the extra cash :( SEE PICS

I bought it initially for baseboard trim for the bathroom but I will need it for a lot more with upcoming projects. It was easy to set up and install onto the Ryobi Quickstand. Cut the trim like butter and the cuts look good. I like the led lighting for not only visibility but it also helps you see where the blade is going to cut due to the shadow that the blade casts on the piece you are trying to cut. The saw was on sale and it was a great price. If it gets me through my upcoming projects I'll be extremely happy. This is a lot of saw for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value Great value on a compound miter saw. Cut square right out of the box. I didn't pay attention and thought it came with a laser, but honestly, the way the LED light is designed it casts a shadow from the blade that shows exactly where the cut will be. Blade changes are easy with the way they designed the cover. Just pivots out of the way by loosening one screw. The only thing I would like to see improved is the trigger switch. I dont see the need for a safety button on a tool like this. The location of the safety button isn't convenient for cuts using the left hand. It's not overly cumbersome, but not efficient either.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Spend extra for a saw with a straight fence… I’ve had this saw for about 2 years now and it’s useless for smaller cuts. I do a lot of projects around the house and build a lot of craft items for my wife and if you need to make a cut where you’re cutting 3” or less, this saw will NOT make a straight cut. The variance on a standard 1x6 is about 1/8” from one end to the other. Doesn’t sound like much, but for precise cuts it’s beyond frustrating. The fence isn’t straight all the way across. It bevels back as it gets closer to the cutting area.

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and performance of this saw considering the price. Out of the box the saw was set up almost perfectly with almost no adjustment needed. The saw is solid, and does not feel cheap and light as one might expect for a sliding miter at this price point. So far my first project was some cross cutting of trim, and it performed as expected, with the actual saw blade being of adequate quality considering the price point. The sliding action was extremely smooth, and dust collection was as to be expected for a sliding miter saw. For a DIYer such as myself, I cannot recommend this saw highly enough.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from fence won’t square with blade I have had good experiences with Ryobi products in the past. I used this saw to build a workbench and tree boxes, so I didn’t need the cuts to be perfect. But the fence wouldn’t square with the blade. If I take a 4”x4” block of wood and cut one side then rotate it 1/4 turn and cut the other side until I have cut all four sides, the last side has a major variance from being square. The fence has four bolts that can be loosened to adjust in efforts to square it up, but it was so far off that the fence wouldn’t move enough to square up with the blade. Also, when the blade is out to the far end of the sliders, it can be moved 1/4” from side to side, which could create sloppy cuts when extending the slider. I returned the saw and bought a different brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good product for the price I’m a trade worker and am devoted to Milwaukee. I have about $2,000 in m18 tools just for working on my home. I looked at the m18 Milwaukee 12” miter saw for $600, with the very visually pleasing, Ryobi miter saw sitting next to it for less then a 1/3 the price. I thought, “I’ll be working in my house or garage with outlets to plug into all around me”, so I broke my “Milwaukee only” promise to myself and bought the Ryobi 10” sliding dual bevel miter saw, and the Ryobi miter saw stand. I’m so happy with this miter saw and stand I felt the need to write a review for the first time in my life on anything, let alone a power tool. I highly recommend this saw. Got the saw and stand for a little over half the price of the m18 miter saw without a stand. That day I built a raised flower bed for my wife with the Ryobi miter saw.

What have you used to lubricate the rails? The owner's manual says that nothing needs lubed, but my saw is brand new and does not slide easily. I don't want something that is going to cause sawdust to stick to the rails.
Asked by: Ryan
OP here... I ended up calling Ryobi and they recommended that I return mine to the store and get another one. The guy that I spoke to said that it shouldn't stick as it is being pushed. The new saw not only slides better, but it also came out of the box with a light coating of some sort of lubricant on the rails. The returned saw had rails that were completely dry when it came out of the box.

Hi Irfan. This model does not have the laser option but the cut line is more accurate than the laser and does not need to be adjusted. Thanks for asking. Greg

Do you need to buy a stand or can it be used on a table/mounted

Asked by: Dave
You don't need to, but it works better with a stand . I already had a stand as this was a replacement for An older saw. Word of advice: Mske sure the saw is all the way back on the rails before starting a cut.

For manufacturer... this trips the gfci outlet in my garage when I use with a heavy duty extension cord. Weird thing is it doesn’t happen all of the time. It doesn’t trip the main circuit breaker. Also, I cannot use this saw when plugged into a power strip no matter what the rating is. Is this normal?
Asked by: Vet
It's a 15 amp nominal saw, but on startup and if you really crowd the blade It's probably pulling closer to 20 A. Your GFCI is probably 15 A, and the extension cord isn't helping. It will probably work fine if you plug it in directly.
