Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked great until it didnt Bought this a couple months ago. Its not my first mitre saw, but it was an upgrade from my old Delta. Once I got the blade perpendicular to the fence, it cut great. The preset indents aren't accurate though. A 45° cut is off by about 2°. Most of the saw is either plastic or aluminum. But these weren't deal breakers. What was was the saw breaking. Went to make a couple cuts tonight, and everything seemed fine, up until the saw sounded like it exploded. The saw is completely unusable now. The arm for the saw guard is bent, the blade guard is broken, and does not look repairable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Saw at Fair Price! Hi!... I bought this saw for home and hobby projects so I was was shopping for the biggest bang for my bucks without blowing my budget on a Pro Machine. The 10” blade is also used in most table saws and as such is cheaper to replace than a 12” model while handling most jobs. My saw shipped well packaged and was easy to setup with all hardware included. My first impression was that of a well made product. It is solid, well thought out and even a little lighter than I expected, making it easily portable. Having had it just a short time I have found it easy to adjust and operate. I have no problem with recommending it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy, accurate and fun Of all the tools I own, this is by far the most useful. I used to use a skill saw for all cutting and the mitering saw is more accurate and quicker. I've been looking for projects to do just so I can use it! I have only 2 small complaints. There is a sawdust catcher, but it only catches about a third of the wood dust. The rest flies out the back and I have to sweep it up afterward. The second complaint is the clamp that holds the wood in place is a bit finicky and I have to hold it a certain way or the tightening knob just keeps turning without actually clamping against the wood. The unit is not too heavy for a woman to carry. I have no reason not to recommend this product to anyone for home projects.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not cut square! What an absolute piece of garbage. I bought one thinking I could save myself some money by going with a cheaper, but well reviewed saw. Took it home and did some test cuts on 2x4s and it was fine. Started cutting some cherry wood for a project and no matter what I did, the cuts would not square up! Cut a reference edge, then placed the reference edge against the fence and even that turned out to be crooked by as much 1/4". Did more reference cuts and it just turned into a mess with cuts being off anywhere from 1/4" to 3/8". This would be fine for short cuts on fencing or decking, but no chance in hell would it be usable for woodworking projects. I returned this piece of junk and bought a better saw from Milwaukee.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stay away Do yourself a favor spend a little more on DeWalt. There are only 3 authorized repair shop all in remote area. LED light not working after one year, and dropped off at their warranty repair shop. 3 weeks passed, I was told need at least another 2 weeks to take a look at it. Even the gas money back and forth will get you a much better one and a full repair network. DeWalt, Milwaukee probably won't even break at the first place.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The price is right Clean cuts to trim work. The 90 degree setting may be off by just under half a degree. Able to cut a 2 x 12. Overall a great purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the money I bought this saw a month ago for a fence project. After completing several cuts, many straight and some at angles I can say that it is definitely worth the money I paid for it. The only issue I have with it is some of the angle cuts didn't end up clean, however I attribute that to the blade and not the saw. The blade it comes with is ok at best. If you upgrade the blade this saw is a 10/10.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could of been great Saw has nice features, nice LED shadow, good accuracy and smooth up/down motion.. BUT the sliding motion is terrible. This for me is enough to drop points as this is a critical saw point. It's nearly impossible to slide slowly or 1/4 inch due to the amount of force needed to push, pull the saw head. Ryobi, please upgrade the bearings on your next saw..

does this have a depth adjustment feature?

Asked by: curious george
Hi!… I haven’t used this saw often enough yet to have used this feature. But if you are asking if there is an adjustment to set the cut depth, I believe there is. It’s a very good saw and I’m quite impressed with the quality of construction and accuracy for the price! Aside from being able to tilt in one direction only and not both, it’s a very good compromise between the 7 1/2” & 12” sizes and great for most DIY homeowners!…

I just opened the box and I found some oil on the sliders (cylinders) is it a defect unit ?

Asked by: Math
Hi Math, That is perfectly fine. The reason sometimes there is additional oil on some of our products like this compound mitre saw is to reduce any corrosion. We are never positive how long a product may sit on Home Depot shelves for, so we protect out components that are metal with oil. Thanks for reaching out, RYOBI Canada.
