Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not waste your money I got one full row mowed before it turned off. I thought the battery wasn't charged so I connected it. The charger showed green so it was fully charged. Tried again and got maybe 5 more feet and shut off again. I had to let it sit for a few minutes because it wouldn't restart. I tried one more time and again it shut off after only a few feet. It would take me 5 hours to mow my tiny yard at this rate. I took it back and will never buy another. And my grass was not long at all. It was normal length. Major waste of money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy and convenient I've been using this model for about a year now and I love it. It was so nice this spring to pull it out, pop in a battery and go--no messing with oil, gas, etc. While it's not a self-propelled model, that hasn't made a difference for me. I'm a 150 lb woman with arthritis and I find that it's very maneuverable, even when I twisted my ankle I was able to push it around my yard with little trouble and it turns really easily. Mowing every 5-7 days and when the grass is dry, I do get a good 40 minutes of mowing time per battery charge even with the uneven and sloping terrain of my yard. I use the mulching function and it mulches well, even the small branches and twigs I've occasionally run over don't stop it. After a solid year of use, the only real wear and tear that is noticeable is the rubber on the handle--easily fixed with tape. I just purchased a second battery so I can mow my full lot without waiting for the battery to re-charge as that can take several hours. Love the mower--would love it more if they figured out how to put solar panels on the mower so the sun could keep it charged, but otherwise it's been a good product for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not really junk if you know what's going on. I inherited a 2017/2018 version of this mower, and was told it worked fine. My first attempt at using it, it didn't start no matter what I did with bar and button. That's crazy for a basically a twice used device. Battery tested fine with volt meter. Upon tear down, I noticed a few things. All the plastic is basic, and like a toy. The electronic components are solid. There was a good amount of grass jammed up in the deck. This did not attribute to my problem, but cleaning was a good idea. A few screws off and clean. No biggie. My problem was in the button compartment. The green button is not a button! It's really just a way to push a spring loaded & hooked lever downward, which in turn interlocks to an opposite shaped piece attached to the spring loaded bar with cable. When they hold hands, and you pull the bar, a plastic part (under the real button) attached to the first lever is what actually operates the real button and the motor started. All in all, my problem was only mechanical. The levers weren't shaking hands. Hope this helps others who might be afraid to open things up. It's a bit cumbersome to sandwich these sprung bits back into the housing, so attache the cable to the bar last. Again, the components are good and the motor should't get burnt out on a small lawn. Not for a long time. The price is what I would expect for the motor, voltage regulator, and button.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 6 years and still running strong after 6 years, my two 4h batteries (originally this mower came with 2 batteries) needed replacing. So, I decided to purchase the 21 Inch Ryobi power mower with a 6h battery. This newer design comes with a safety feature that requires the handles to be unfolded and fully extended before the mover will start. During the 2nd use, it stopped working because the handle was slightly off center. Long story short, This 16" mower does not have that issue. It's a simple, durable machine. It will fit a 5h battery in it as well. It's light weight and easy to store. I think 6 years before replacing my 2 4h batteries is good use. I also abuse this mower pretty hard. My 1/4 acre lot has fully grown trees all around it and I'm always running over sticks and twigs. I use my batteries for the mower, string trimmer, edger, leaf blower and hedge trimmer. For expanded/interchangeable use, I recommend two 5h batteries with at least one charger and the 4h battery for the Expand It add ons. This mower would be too small for anything over 1/3 and acre.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs a higher height adjustment. I purchased this mower with the blower a couple of years ago. I’m happy with my purchase. However I only wish the mower had a higher setting on it. The height adjustment goes from 1 1/4” to 3 1/2”. I keep it set too 3 1/2” and that setting still cuts grass too low. Is there something that can be done too adjust the mower height. Maybe new wheels that are larger, just enough to lift the mower from ground? PLEASE HELP

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PERFECT FOR ME I have 2.5 acres, no I do not cut it with this mower but growing up I always help my Daddy cut the grass and I love to trim around the front of the house plus cut the area around my deck to the detached garage, maybe 1/4 acres in all so this is perfect for me and I use the grasscatcher plus bought an extra battery. It gives me the final touch to groom my yard as the yardman cuts the rest. I need to sharpen the blade or get another if possible

I can easily cut the entire front yard on one charge and still have enough battery left to use the trimmer and leaf blower for clean up.

Can it handle tall grass?

Yes, it handles tall grass with the caveat that you must start on a slightly higher level if you intend to cut the grass short
