The ONE+ 18V 13-inch String Trimmer has a lightweight design making it portable and easy to use around your yard. The auto-feed line head will automatically advance the line and no bumping is required. This trimmer is also equipped with a variable speed trigger so you can have more control around fences, masonry and other areas of your yard. With the press of a button the shaft rotates to an edger so you can quickly tackle your edging needs. The adjustable 11-inch to 13-inch cutting width allows you to optimize your trimmer for increased run time or a wider cut swath. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good value for light jobs Does the trick for light jobs, but battery doesn't last very long (1st time was about half an hour, 2nd time shorter), so it helps to have more than one battery around if you don't want to have to stop and wait for a recharge to finish your job. Also, with only one string instead of two, I noticed it takes a little more effort to clear a section than with my old (gas-powered) one. But I don't have much yard or heavy work to do with it (just a couple patches of lawn that get overgrown with dandelions and grasses, maybe about 100 sq. metres total). Would not recommend for larger yards or heavy jobs.

It overheats in heavier grass and the unit has started smoking if it is used in heavier grass. I am considering returning it to Home Depot. Great for trimming around your petunias in Vancouver but not if you want to seriously do trimming around your yard. However..... It's an inexpensive trimmer and not meant for doing more intense trimming chores

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good tool, no gas. Might have a design weak point Works good. A battery seems to last about 20-30 minutes, so you'll probably need two batteries to do a normal sized lawn. Not having to worry about gasoline and clogged up carbs is a HUGE bonus. The only downside is this thing has a very thin shaft between the motor and the wire head. That's going to get bent and that will be the end of this tool.

I like the feature that a few quick pulls on the trigger will advance the trimmer line. The only draw back is that fatigue begins very quickly. I am experimenting with the position of the swing handle location to see if that helps. Time wil tell.

Can 1.5 ah battery be use on this tool?

Hi Bobby, Thanks for reaching out to us regarding the 18V ONE+ Lithium-Ion Cordless 13-inch String Trimmer. You can use any RYOBI 18V battery with any of the RYOBI 18V tools. The difference will be in the run time, as this is determined by the Amp Hours. The lower the Amp Hour rating, the less run time you will get.
