Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good hobbyist saw This is a good hobby level household tool. It does not compare with upmodels from other brands so manage your expectations. That doesn't mean it won't be very useful if used correctly. Of course having it part of the Ryobi 18V family help it make sense even if it isn't the ultimate circular saw for every need. I'll make a special note about power. This particular tool, as with others I've experienced in the Ryobi 18V family, loves a bigger battery. The performance of the tool with a 4.0AH battery versus a 1.3AH battery is night and day. I'm not talking about run time. I'm talking about cutting power. Completely different experience.

I think the batteries might have been the issue because they overheated and the saw stopped cutting. I also had difficulty making the blade square to the shoe. It seemed built well overall, but I think the batteries (also new) prevented me from testing the saw itself.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Made three cuts and quit Only had one day and will be returning it. Pure junk. Three cuts and then dead battery. Battery had just came off the charger fully charged. Loved the thought of the ability to take it anywhere and no cord. Would rather deal with cords than only getting three cuts then you are done til the battery charges again

does the 6.5 inch circular saw come with a circular blade?

does the 6.5 inch circular saw come with a circular blade?
Asked by: ryobi saw
Read the product details.  Yes, it comes with a circular blade.  When it says “tool only,” it’s telling you that it does NOT come with its associated 18v battery.

Asked by: Nathan
Not sure. I’ve only used my Saw on wood. I use a grinder, with a cutting blade ,to cut masonry.

Did anyone else have a problem with the depth adjustment screw being too short? The knob fell off and the screw is a little too short for me to easily screw the knob back on.

Can this cut through a 2x4 at 45 degree bevel?

Can this cut through a 2x4 at 45 degree bevel?
Asked by: RyobiMan
The max depth of a 90 degree cut is listed as 2.06 inches. At 45 degrees it will only be 1.46 inches. 2.06 / (sqrt 2) = 1.46 The nominal size of a 2x4 is 1.5 x 3.5, so this won't quite make it. You will be 0.04 inches short. I'm sure you could just snap it at that point, but it won't look good.

Have they fixed the blade guard so that it doesn't bind on thinner pieces of wood? On my older model the guard frequently gets "stuck" while cutting due to poor design. This is VERY annoying. Has it been fixed or has anyone else noticed this? I can't be the only one with this problem.
