Rated 1 out of 5 by from Brad Nailer Misfired I do not know why this product has such good reviews. I own several Ryobi tools and have 8 batteries to power them all. So when I saw the Brad Nailer I was very excited about getting one as I'm in the middle of a basement reno and this would be perfect. We I started using it and the first 6-8 strikes went fine. That was as good as it got. It would misfire more then it would hit. I tried going over the manual hoping I was going something wrong. I changed the battery several times but still misfire after misfire. It was beyond frustrating. In no way am I putting down the line of Ryobi products as I have many and have never had an issue. But this one does not do as promised, avoid at all cost.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t waste your time or money. Terrible nailer. Constantly misfires or dry fires. Half the nails that do get fired don’t go in all the way, sometimes sticking out more than a quarter inch on a 2” nail. I have a lot of experience with brad nailers and this is by far the worst. It’s also heavy for its lack of power, and no belt clip is annoying. If you can afford it, get the one made by the red company instead.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works Great... Some Times When it fires a brad it does a very nice job with depth adjustments and does now mar the working surface. The problem is that it will fire five or ten brads in a row and then dry fire or sometimes you can hear the tool nicking the brad and not firing it. Sometimes these dry fires will go on for five or ten cycles until it fires a brad again. Pretty frustrating. The manual says this behavior may be caused by glue residue where the brads feed and suggests cleaning and oiling. Cleaning did not make any difference. Maybe I got a dud.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DON'T BUY THIS - RYOBI CUSTOMER SERVICE HORRIBLE DON'T DO IT! This is my SECOND brad nailer and the second one that has stopped working. Only 4 months old; 2 - +1 hour on 'hold' waiting to speak to someone at Ryobi Canada and then learning from their speed fix-it it will be AT LEAST 5-6 weeks for them to replace the circuit board. It's doing the same thing the other one did... everything seems to be working but the nails don't shoot. I'm buying Milwalkee or DeWalt next time. I was a HUGE fan of Ryobi before this... everything I bought (and I bought it all) was Ryobi. No longer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sometimes an 'Airstrike' and sometimes not! I'm enjoying the flexibility of not having to pull a hose around. Based on my needs (weekend warrior) the 'AirStrike' was the way to go. When it works it handles most sizes of brad nails fine. I'd suggest trying different settings to get the one right for your project. Unfortunately from time-to-time the unit misfires. I've done the YouTube route where some suggest to oil a brand new unit to filing down edges among other things. It appears that others are experiencing the same issues! I'm sure Ryobi is checking the reviews but have not come up with a resolution that I am aware of. Just recently I had to revert back to my nailer attached to a hose to complete a job. I'll give it more time to prove itself before reaching out to Customer Service.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use Fantastic nail gun. Bought it the other day and have tested many 1 to 2 inch nails and they always go in flush without any need for further adjustment. The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is because contrary to the description, their were no sample nails included.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from RE - Works Great - Some of the Time Regarding the dry firing problem I reported below. Changed the brads from Everlast to Porter Cable. The Porter Cable brads fixed the dry fire problem. It now dry fires maybe once in 20 brads...much much better performance. I would now rate this tool a 4-5.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What a waste of money I bought this a year ago- less a day ( i have the receipt out) It won't work--used if for about 30 nails- checked you-tube-- apparently I an not the only one that finds its wont strike a nail after sitting for a bit-- lack of grease seems to be the problem-- very disappointed was hoping to use it crafting this Christmas. contacted the local "service center" Home Depot Barrie-- they told me to have Ryobi correct their site-- they do not service---- I don't think that is my responsibility.....

Does this tool work with all 18V ryobi batteries??? or a specific battery from Ryobi??

Asked by: OrilliaBuilder
It requires a heavier battery in the 18v Ryobi line up . The batteries that power the smaller tools don’t do well with the power needed by this tool.

Is there a special type of Ryobi One+ battery that needs to be used? We're only getting 10-12 nails out of a fully charged battery (not 1,900) - we put the battery back on the charger and it's showing fully charged.

Asked by: james
Hi James, Thanks for reaching out to us regarding the 18V ONE+ AirStrike 18-Gauge Cordless Lithium-Ion Brad Nailer. We recommend using a 4Ah battery or greater, as this can happen with lower amperage batteries. For further information, please contact RYOBI Customer Support at 1-800-525-2579. Thanks, RYOBI Canada Team.
