Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like this a lot ... I have been frustrated with soldering irons that don't get hot enough. Drives me crazy. This little bubba really solves that problem. Aside from the great convenience of being battery powered, it gets REALLY hot, really quick. Someone mentioned in the reviews that it gets too hot for electronics work and I am glad they mentioned that. I use it for soldering cables etc. and I just turn the heating switch off when the solder melts and don't let it fully heat up. Works perfect. You have to be careful with it though, the extreme heat at full capacity will melt anything, including you if you touch it accidently (and no I haven't yet). I am not sure how to order replacement parts? Having a spare tip would be nice. I asked here but no one answered whether there are also different tip configurations available?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not good for electronics you can't adjust temperature and its too high for electronic components. may good for wire to wire soldering. I'm going to return as soon as the lock down is over.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for my needs. This soldering iron is great for the casual hobbyist though I would be leary recommending it to someone who was very serious about their electrical/circuitry projects. A solid performance for a cordless (obviously the selling point here) iron compared to others that I've tried but as I mentioned, if you plan on really digging into something like that it would be worth your while buy a more expensive, corded soldering iron with more bells and whistles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! Works great! Has a reasonable heat up time (with indicator to say it's doing so), and after you shut it off there's another one to say it's still cooling. I love the freedom of not needing to drag a cord to the job (and then having to trip over it).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Solder Iron Awesome Solder Iron, heats up really quick. beats my butane ones that when used outside the wind does cool them down, Not the Ryobi stays nice and hot.If you use soldering irons you'll have to try this one. Way to go Ryobi

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent Solder iron on the go Solder iron works well and heats up quickly. Great for quick fixes at places you can't find an electrical outlet. Lost one star because it doesn't have temperature control and reading. Otherwise it would be perfect

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cordless soldering iron is so convenient There are always those odd jobs that are far away from electrical outlet. I used the fuel irons before and it runs too hot and the fuel run out too fast. This one is safe and the battery last for a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than advertised Heats up very quickly. The led lights that show hearing and cooking phases are very helpful. Lasts a long time on a charge. Very pleased with this purchase.

How can I tell the tip temperature? Base has plus/minus buttons to adjust temperature but no digital readout. Manual does not even mention adjustment of temperature.
