Either the high-temp melt or any temp melt sticks - the chunky ones. I like using the long ones, though, because you need to keep reloading the shorter sticks.

There are different ways to buy this glue gun. You can buy only the glue gun. You can buy only the battery. You can buy only the charger. Or you can buy the kit that includes 1 glue gun, 1 battery and 1 charger. I bought the kit- excellent deal!
