Rated 4 out of 5 by from Adequate for DIYer Save yourself the headache and do not use the blade that came with it. Buy a decent brand blade and this thing will most likely meet your home DIY needs. I used this to cut ogee pattern on a DIY pergola. With the standard issue blade, this saw struggled big time. It was a chore to cut through even one, it made ugly cuts and the wood was chipping everywhere. So I bought a better set of blades, and this time it cut through the wood like a hot knife cuts through room temperature butter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice tool, everything was good about the order and delivery,... Nice tool, everything was good about the order and delivery, the tool works as I expected for my needs, what was extremely disappointing was that there was not a single sample or assortment of blades to try out, which meant I now need to go back to HD to purchase blades, great job marketing decision makers!!

Are there any blades that you can easily buy in Canada for this saw? I want to pick one up however many of the review speak to not being able to get blades for it.

Asked by: Josh

Is this powerful enough to do curved cuts in 2 inch thick hard maple? Would I need a specific type of blade?

Asked by: Aredn
I think it shouldn't be a problem getting through. They make a blade specifically for hardwoods to make clean cuts that will work for you

They say you can get an optional rip fence in the manual . but checked ryobi and no mention of part number. can you use another make. john

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes you can use another make. It needs to be the smaller in width one for jig saws, as opposed to the circ saw smaller one. I suggest that you also have an associate call our parts supplier they may have the Ryobi one for you as well.

What is the expected battery run-time under average usage conditions?

Asked by: Anonymous
This depends on the battery used, whether it be NiCad or lithium. There are many variables such as technique, material being cut, thicknes and density of the material. It is really difficult to quote a time line. This tool is for short working times and convenience. The lithium batteries with run twice as long as the NiCads. Under a full charge it will perform the same as a corded saw. The lithium batteries will give Full performance right until the end.
