Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Spiral Saw! I bought this to help with a drywall project, since the last time I used a drywall hand saw to make all the cuts I needed. I was skeptical, but now am a huge fan of this tool. The adjustable radius circle cutter attachment is awesome. It made cutting holes in sheetrock for pot light perforations a breeze. Fast, perfect circles. I wish I had bought this tool years ago. One minor con to mention, but not to detract from a purchase- it does use up batteries quicker than you'd expect. I have 2 batteries already though for my drill which doesn't use up batteries anywhere near as fast, but managed to cycle dead batteries though the charger while using one battery between the drill and the spiral saw, which only slowed me down a little. The time saving from the spiral saw over hand tools more than made up for that time of swapping tools on the 1 battery. I think in the course of 8 hours, the saw drained a battery twice, so not bad at all. Just be aware this is normal, so don't be surprised. Tip- there's 2 bits included in the box, but the manual doesn't explain which one's which, and at first glance they appear the same, but there definitely are subtle differences. The drywall bit has a rounded tip where the first 1/16" of the bit is a flat edge that allows you to cut drywall around an electrical box but not cut the box itself as the flat end just rubs the box allowing you to use the box as a guide while cutting the drywall, making for a tight clean fitting opening. The wood cutting bit looks like a drill bit at the end, where it is sharp edged to penetrate wood, and the spiral cutting edge runs right through to the tip. Love this saw!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tough on batteries! I have used this tool for a few weeks. I find it much more convenient than a corded Dremel for the odd/on-site job. The only negative is the very reduced battery life (One +). But I have four of those batteries...so should you!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good saw I have used this saw to cut through drywall for electrical box installations and for removing a larger section of ceiling drywall for a renovation project. The saw was nearly flawless. The circle cutter does it's job well but the saw is loud. For larger cutouts it is difficult to maintain a straight line but I am sure with more practice that will come.

This little baby fixed it in 30 seconds. It cut the bottom of the strike plate hole perfect, and the door closes great now. Perfect addition to the Ryobi “One” collection.

However, we do not test our products with other brands. Will the Ryobi 18V One_ Cordless Speed Saw Rotary Cutter cut 1/8" hardboard?

Hi Gary, Thanks for reaching out and great question. This 18V ONE+ Cordless Speed Saw Rotary Cutter will be able to cut 1/8" hardboard if you do the following. Let the tool ramp up to full RPM before proceeding to cut any material especially hardboard. We would also advice getting a fine tooth blade that helps with smoother cuts.
