Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little vaccum I have a Dyson V6 and saw this on sale and thought I would take a chance on it. I wasnt expcting much as these handhelds are most for light duty use (floor sweeping etc) I was surprised a tthe power and like using vacuums that have a changable battery over the Dyson style ones as it does tlimit your cleaning time. It was powerfull neough albeit lud and picks up most small things although it has trouble with large items. For the price point I find this vacuum to be very flexible for most household uses and would buy another one if I have use for it on a anouth property. - battery life is decent on a 4ah although when it gets to about 50% power its best the change the battery - cleaning canister is easy to remove and dump - stands up on its own

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible vacuum I was excited to get this to replace a corded one. But this thing has no suction power at all - even with a 4ah battery. Anything larger than a piece of rice just gets kicked out the back by the turning brush and on the other end of the spectrum, fine dust just clogs up the machine filter so bad that it looses all suction immediately. I watched my partner try to vacuum a small pile of swept up dirt, which just ended up getting shot all over the floor. And when she turned it off, all the dust inside the stem came pouring out again. This was *AFTER* we had emptied the vacuum.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really does an excellent job. I love my ryobi tools when I had a chance to purchase this stick vacuum. I'm glad that I went with this one. Since it fits my needs when working from home. I do vacuuming at least once a week. And I've been very surprised in a good way. That it picks up a lot of cat hair and other particles. I love the fact that I could use my batteries from ryobi for long runtime. Minor detail is the canister is small and needs to be empty more frequently. But that's okay with me. One I am going to do is to purchase the dual roller which compatible with this unit. So it'll be a plus with this stick vac.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great if you fix a significant design flaw This is one of the best vacuums I have owned, but there is/was one problem with it. When I first used it it seemed to have very weak suction power, then I noticed that inside the waste container there was a rubber flap where the debris enters the container. I presume the intention of the flap is to prevent debris from exiting the container and going back down the tube. However, removing that rubber flap nearly doubled the suction of the vacuum. It extremely hot with the flap I highly recommend removing it. Now I will say, yes, debris sometimes goes down the tube, but that is a minor inconvenience for the performance boost. I think Ryobi needs to rethink the debris-backflow design, as I highly suspect all the bad reviews report bad suction, are caused because of that very small 1inch x 1inch grey rubber flap. Larger debris gets blocked up trying to enter the container, and the tube gets clogged. As soon as I remove that flap it became a different, very powerful product, than what I got out of the box. Good but not great, Ryobi you can fix this easily!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy with this vacuum cleaner I bought this more than one year ago. It works really well, cordless is definitely a huge asset. I use a 4hp high performance battery. The downside is that it's very noisy, and the on/off switch is in the same place as the hand hold so I am constantly turning the machine on or off by accident. But overall, I am happy with the convenience of this vacuum.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great! Until it's Not. This is a great vacuum...until it isn't. Bought it to keep the shop/garage clean and ended up using it for the entire house. It worked great. The problem and the reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that there is no way to get replacement filters or parts of any kind in Canada. With part numbers in hand, I contacted the 800# in the manual but when I gave them my address for shipping, I was told NO GO TO CANADA!! I was given the number of a repair shop in my town that has parts available but when I called, they were out of business. I called the 800# again and determined there are no parts distributors anywhere near me. SInce then, I didn't notice when the rubber gasket fell off the canister door while emptying. Without the gasket, the vacuum does not suck anymore. Home Depot needs to figure out how to ship parts across the border.

This vacuum head has an opening of only a couple millimeters making it physically impossible to pickup "large debris". Shame on RYOBI for misleading customers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Top heavy and brittle plastic I received this as a gift at Christmas. I loved it, until it tipped over, (it's very top heavy when the battery is installed). The plastic for the canister shattered. I can still use it, if I'm extremely careful removing and installing the canister. If it tipped it, it would for sure garbage. I love Ryobi tools and accessories, that's all we buy, and they are very durable. The plastic on this stick vacuum is very brittle.

What's the difference between model PCL720K and PCL720b?
