Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT fully compatible with Ryobi batteries! Super disappointed with this tool. I love it, but it has a fatal flaw. Using a fully charged 18V ONE+ battery, the tool randomly shuts off. Sometimes it lasts for 10 seconds, sometimes it lasts for 1 minute, but never any longer. When this happens, the battery will flash a single bar (apparently current overload warning?) The only way to restart the tool is to pull the battery, and plug it back in for another round. I assumed the tool was defective, so I replaced it - only to find the new tool does the same thing. I quick search shows this is a common problem. Too bad, it's wonderful when it works.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works great BUT It blows air and with the attachment will work for most inflatables and blow up beds, put the attachment on the top and it sucks instead of blows. works good BUT SMALL BATTERIES I USED THE 1.5mah DO NOT WORK blows for a new seconds and turns off. I'm not sure what size it starts to work but works on my 4mah batteries with no issue. I assumed with price and what the tool is used for that the lower lighter battery would of been a great partner for this tool but that is not the case. Being new to RYOBI brand I assumed that all 18v batteries work with all tools but I now know better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless with small battery I have several Ryobi tools (other inflator, leaf blower, hedge trimmer, sander) all of these work without issue on 2ah battery. I really have only drained a full battery on the leaf blower and I get about 15min. Fully charged, with this inflator, literally seconds and dies. Battery indicator drops to 1 or flashes full. I take this same battery and immediately put in the leaf blower and works no problem. I see other comments about low battery size and issues as well, sorry I didn't listen. Fyi, Ryobi, if you have a "Live Chat" on your website, might be a good idea to staff it and not have an automatic message saying unavailable. This would include stopping the automatic pop-up, asking you if you want to "Live Chat" when Ryobi knows its not available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The tool I never knew I needed This is one of the most bizarrely useful things I've ever purchased. Backyard fire not catching? Blast it with the Inflator. Electronics dusty? Blast it with the Inflator. Drawers dirty? Blast it with the Inflator. It's shockingly useful. And is a great alternative to ozone depleting canned air.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from great when it works. How long it continues to inflate is random. All my ryobi batteries I have used on it were fully charged, so it cannot be the battery. This inflator must have some sort of thermal protection that shuts it down, but it trips / heats up too quickly. Over the past year, I have only successfully filled a twin air mattress twice. All other times (~12 other times), it would work but cut out 20 secs to a minute into use. Not sure if it is over-heating or if it has to do with the battery power (2Ah vs 4Ah vs 6Ah). I find it works best with my old (4years +) low capacity battery without charge indicator. If only it would work consistently would this be a decent tool. I have exchanged this tool twice already and experience the same issue each time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad for the price. Used it for inflatable kayak. It seems lacking a little bit of power to make the kayak fully inflated. It inflates fast and very easy to use but it needs an extra boost for the last 5%. Not bad for the price especially if you have the Ryobi batteries already.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good for use as a duster. I use this to blow the saw dust off of my woodworking projects and to clean out my computer. It's not quite enough pressure to do the latter well but since it's not designed to do either of the things I use it for I'm not going to complain. Nice tool!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great idea, if it worked. Bought this a while back and had to return it. No matter what battery I used (regular or HP) it would overheat and stop working.

May I use it to inflate bicycle tires?

Asked by: Jackei 29
No. This is the wrong device for that. There is another inflator for tires.

Can this run in reverse as well to deflate items?

Asked by: Trice81
Yes. The nozzle at the front can be removed by twisting and placed on top of the device to deflate items faster. Great for quick inflation and deflation of items like camp beds, inflatable boats etc

Does this work on car tires?

Asked by: Mrb0
no it does not...but they sell one that does. I bought it for air mattresses for camping. It only comes with two valve stems...one large for mattresses and one small for pool inflatables...works great m8

Can this inflate paddleboards to 15 PSI? Is there a pressure gauge? I have the combo tool and the volume inflation side seems to quit at low pressure - can't do the job. Kinda strange because the high pressure side can pump up to 40+ PSI no problem.

Asked by: Kurt
No, this is low pressure only. The combo tool has two different pumps inside. One is high volume low pressure and the other is a high pressure low volume piston pump. There are pumps that do both functions in one. Look for a high pressure pump that uses halkey roberts valves (that's what most high pressure items use for a valve).

Can I use this to inflate a paddle board? Does it have the adapter for this?

Asked by: Lindsay
No you can't! Paddle board needs high pressure pump that could pump up to 10-15 PSI. This is not a high pressure pump, this is good for mattress, water donuts and anything that requires up to 1 PSI.

Which ryobi battery should I buy to get the best power for the inflator?

Asked by: Sunny
mine is just the standard 18v lithium. i have a drill and saw that uses them and a charger with 2 batteries that came with the drill. the air pump was another add-on. fully charged battery can probably inflate 30 air mattresses :)

Will this attach to an inflatable paddle board filler valve?

Asked by: Rature
I am not sure about that but it is a awesome tool for all inflatables like boats and outdoor inflatable water pools.

Does this tool have an adapter to inflate care tires.

Asked by: Ben D
This isn’t for high pressure stuff like tires. More for air mattresses and inflatable boats. You want the other one.
