Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the size I was in the middle of a complete yard gut, my 20" 2 stroke of course did not want to work, had my wife rush to pick me up with 18v brushless 10" chainsaw as the largest tree I had was around 9". I was impressed. Cut the roots of a maple no problem, cut a 9" spruce stump. Every now and then it shuts off like its out of battery, but I feel it may be some sort of overload from hitting dirt. Pop the battery out and carry on. Great little saw for small yard cleanup. I opted for the 18v only due to having around 8+ tools on the one+ 18v chain. If I wasnt in a pinch I may have opted for the 40v, but I had to finish my work and had 5+ batteries charged on the go

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Saw For 18 volt This is a simple, basic, small saw which is intended for trimming limbs or cutting down small trees. It will NOT replace your gas powered chain saw with a 16" bar. Size makes this saw ideal for packing on the 4 wheeler to clear away most trees down across the trail. Use with a 6 or 9 ah battery is recommended. As for the chain oil leaking problem that so many report, its minor. I cannot recall owning any chain saw that did not have some form of leakage from the chain oiler. Within it's limitations of having an 18 volt motor and short bar, this is an awesome little saw that gets the job done. I have Ryobi everything. Best value in the marketplace in my humble opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great chainsaw Great chain saw especially for a first time user. I was a bit hesitant at first but found it very easy to use. I liked that it wasn’t too heavy with the larger battery pack that it comes with. I was going to use my existing battery from other Ryobi tools but it wouldn’t have lasted so I bought the tool + battery. I cut up several smaller trees and branches with ease with plenty of battery life left. The only drawback is the dripping oil - even after draining the reservoir. So the tool is kept in a plastic bin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ryobi one+ chain saw Brushless is much better than the brushed saw. It has longer battery life and more power.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worked for 4 hours, then broke Very dissapointed with this saw. Bought it 06/29. Used it on July 1, Canada Day. Started my tree-cutting at 8 am and by noon, the motor won't run. When I press the switch with the safety switch, all I hear is a click. At first I thought the battery went dead, checked the battery level, it was 2/5 bars left. Changed to a full charged pack (I've two 18V One+) and the same issue. Next I checked for any clogged wood particles, tree trims, etc. near the chain compartment, all clear, well lubricated and still no luck. So bottom line was something wrong inside the unit. Who's gonna open it? Nah. Thank goodness, it broke within the 90-day return period or else I'd have been stuck with $200 liability. Returned it back. One other issue like most users mentioned is that the oil keeps dripping on it's own from the compartment without any user input so take note of that. I was able to fell a silver birch 9 inch in diameter while the saw is designed for a 7 inch only. I did so with proper planning and adjustment to the cuts. Worked ok while still in operation, wish it lasted longer. I'm guessing this must have been a one-off. Overall, Ryobi tools are good ones, that includes my circular saw and grass trimmer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tool like a cheap toy I generally like Ryobi tools as an ecumenical DIY option. But not this chainsaw. First of all, it likes a toy, only good for cutting tree branches. Second, you have to dump out the chain oil after each use otherwise it will leak chain oil like hell. Worst of all, after 13 month purchased this tool and used it less than 10 times , it broke and quit starting. Very disappointed with this cheap toy tool

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Ryobi continues to deliver quality products for the weekend warrior. This will never replace a gas powered saw but it is a great product for some lightweight pruning and cleaning up. I got is specifically to do some work around the house when the kids are napping and I can’t run a gas saw. Great value and works great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good addition to my other Ryobi tools A great little chainsaw and the first cut was smooth as butter through a 2 1/2 inch tree trunk. The only downside is having to push the self oiler button during use and it does leak oil out after you use it then store it. Be sure to put something absorbent under the chainsaw. But still happy with the saw.

why does your overview states that it has a push button oiler whereas your specification chart says it has an auto oiler?

Asked by: bushwaker
Hi There, thanks for reaching out to us regarding the 18V ONE+ HP Brushless 10-inch Cordless Battery Chainsaw. This unit features a push button oiler, not an automatic chain oiler. The description under the specifications is incorrect and will need to be updated. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. For further information, please contact RYOBI Customer Support at 1-800-860-4050. Thanks, RYOBI Canada Team.

Can you operate this unit with one hand to do some quick pruning? I know it is not reccomended but potentially necessary in a pinch.

Asked by: MRH99
Yes, I have been able to use this small saw one handed. Be very careful and aware that your trigger finger is not only operating the power but supporting the saw.
