[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The RYOBI ONE+ HP 18V 7 1/4" circular saw works better than expected. I made several 45 degree cuts in pressure treated 2x4 and the battery was 3/4 full. The power and efficiency of the brushless motor are awesome. More cuts and longer motor life. My one gripe about this tool is the blade is on the right hand side. If you are right handed you will have to lean around a little bit to see your cut line. If you want a left side blade, look at the Ryobi P508, same brushless 7 1/4 " saw just a left side blade. One benefit of the blade on right side is, when framing and using a speed square in left hand to guide the saw, your hand and square are farther from the blade reducing chance to get injured. So in the end the right side blade is a trade off for safety over slightly more visibility. The led work light does a good job lighting up between the blade and baseplate, but not much the front of the base plate. A laser option would be nice. Overall I like this saw, feels well balanced with a 4 amp hour battery, and has easy to set depth setting along with the bevel adjustment. I can and will get used to the blade on right side of tool. Other great features are a vacuum hose attachment to capture the dust, and also onboard storage for Allen key for blade changes make it easy to find the Allen wrench and swap blades.

But it doesn’t have a lot of power if you plan to use it on really dense wood, you will need to go very slow. It has everything you need in a saw, the wrench to loosen and tighten the blade is attached and there is a brake for the blade so it stays in place when tightening. It also has built in adjustments for depth and angles. It is an all in one... except it did not come with a battery. But I have a collection of Ryobi tools, so they are all interchangeable with the 18v battery.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] RYOBI 7-1/4 in. 18 Volt Brushless Lithium-Ion circular Saw Ordering another Ryobi 18 Volt Lithium-Ion tool without a battery or charger was no problem, I have several Ryobi tools that take the 18 volt Lithium-Ion batteries so I have chargers and batteries for both 18 volt 2 Ah and 18 volt 4 Ah. With my past experience with Ryobi tools which I have had no complaints; they have exceeded my expectations. After putting on the blade and installing the 18 volt 4 Ah battery, I cut several pieces of a 2 X 4 and it never slowed down. I am very happy with the balance and weight of this saw with the battery installed; I also like the safety switch. The ONE biggest thing I like about the 18 volt Lithium-Ion Ryobi tools, there is over 175 tools that take the 18 volt Lithium-Ion battery.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you are reading this review and you are shopping for a good quality, well built, sturdy and easy to use 7 ¼” Cordless Circular Saw, for a homeowner handyman, this is a GREAT option (cannot assess from a contractor usage) this one is my suggestion. Without hesitation I say it fits all my needs and expectations. I would not hesitate recommending this to family and friends. WELL done RYOBI! Note is that this does not include a battery and charger. For those of us with more than a few laying around buying the tool only is a great way to keep our costs VERY reasonable. First thing you notice is this saw has a real solid feel. This has a spindle lock which makes changing the blade much simpler, no more using a screwdriver to lock the blade. And it uses an onboard Allen wrench (included) instead of those knuckle scraping wrenches that ALWAYS slips off. Also includes an LED light which is a smart add on. This thing cuts with the same energy as my old electric Craftsman. If needed it has a vacuum attachment which is good idea if you’re cutting while inside but I find attaching a hose uncomfortable so personally I rarely use it. I also have a 6 ½ inch battery one and the difference is night and day. And in case you were wondering all the 7 ¼ blades I have fit just fine (no reason to think they wouldn’t).

Pretty easy to keep a straight line, but, I'm a rookie and the cuts would have been better if I'd clamped on a guide while cutting laminated plywood. The box was missing the screw to attach the vacuum plastic piece. I don't have a vacuum to attach, but maybe a little bag would collect some of the sawdust? Love the LED light for keeping on the line. This box was also missing the knob for locking the edge guide. This circular saw is a lot of fun to use. The adjusting for the blade depth is easy to use. Instructions were difficult for me to follow, but figured out how to install the blade. Saw comes with one blade.

I also love that I don't have to carry a wrench around with me if I need to change blades - this one uses an Allen wrench, which is stored on the saw when not in use. There is a light to show where the line to cut on is, which really helps with my eyes! The feel of it in use is about the same as my brother's corded saw. I thought it might feel awkward with the battery on it, but it doesn't at all. I don't work fast enough to be able to say if it will hold a charge for hours of use, but even if it doesn't spare batteries can take care of that. I do know I will be purchasing an extra battery or two for bigger projects.

I like the adjustable depth guard and on board LED work light. The brushless motor delivers fast cutting while the no slip grip handles reduce slipping. Also, the vacuum dust adaptor helps keep my work area clean while working. Great choice.
