Rated 2 out of 5 by from pretty sad Bought the tool a few days ago, tried a few holes in different spots as I need to put in fence posts around the perimeter of the yard. If you are using it for soil that isn't rocky I'm betting it's ok. I'm returning it. The "safety" anti-kick back feature makes it useless for me. The tool kicks out way too easy to be useful for me. If you have a rock and root free yard this may give you better results. The augur itself seemed to dig quite well, the motor is pathetic. If I have to carry around my manual post hole digger to help this tool do its job, then I mine as well just dig the hole with the manual digger, or rent a gas augur that get the job done a lot faster.

The only downfall that I find with it is that the handles are a bit weak and tend to twist while in use, have only used for very light work so far, will know more once I get to install fence posts.
