Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great efficient little fan! I have this one and the $30 one that is just 18v. I haven't had either one long enough to say if the value is there, but they do seem to be decent quality. I really like the portability of this fan, and because it doesn't require a cord it will be used in a variety of circumstances/situations where otherwise a fan probably wouldn't be utilized due to the cumbersome nature of running power cords. I said that it's efficient because it is. It only uses 5 watts of power on low speed and 12 watts on high speed. Also, a fully charged p108 battery will run it for 16 hours on low and 7 hours on high. Overall, I really like it.

We've used this fan when the power went out, in the garage, on the back deck, and at the lake. Used it this weekend to keep us cool and also to keep the flies off our food. My wife and I were sitting next to each other and I had it pointed at us, half of me was noticeably cooler in the famously hot 95ish degree South Carolina heat. Ran several hours and still had bars left on the 4mah battery. Only problem, as some have said, is that on "high" it's so powerful that it starts to tilt upwards over time. Quick fix is a little bungee cord to keep it in position. Maybe they can add an adjustment knob on the next version but don't let it stop you, for $40 it's a great addition to the aryobi Addiction, um, collection Great for the shop and also for the #zombieplan

I tested this fan on both high and low speeds with the 4Ah Lithium+ battery and the 6Ah Lithium+HP battery. I started each test with the battery at full charge and ran it until the battery life indicator was down to one bar and noticeably slower. On low, the 4Ah battery kept the fan at a steady work bench speed for roughly 17 hours while the 6Ah ran for 24 hours. On high, the 4Ah battery will keep the breeze in your hair for 8.5 hours while the 6Ah stayed strong for 11.5 hours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful and versatile [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Ryobi 18v hybrid fan had always been on my wish list because I’ve experienced power outages and long sleepless nights. Even though I have not had any weather related power outages, I have used my hybrid fan in the case of being too lazy to plug in my actual fan. On a 6AH battery this fan can probably last you a whole day or more. On its lowest setting it is really quiet sand on its high setting it is significantly audible. I love this fan, it’s so useful with its several mounting possibilities and capability to being plugged in as a normal fan or run all night with a 4Ah battery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have when you lose power After our third black out this summer and spending a hot humid August night with no power I researched battery powered fans for emergency use. I selected the Ryobi 18-Volt ONE+ for three reasons; number one it uses rechargeable batteries I already own, number two it moves a lot of air for its size and lastly because it is a hybrid and will run off of 110 volt AC or 18 Volt DC (see photos). I have not been disappointed. It is great to have when you lose power, for camping or RV’s, back yard cook outs or when you just want a handy fan that’s not a hassle to hook up. It has two speeds and it is definitely quieter and uses less power on low than high. I have run it for up to four hours on low with one P102 Li-ion battery. I have provided a short video to try to give you an idea of the air flow and noise level of the low and high setting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This fan blows....pretty well It ain't no Vornado, but for a battery operated fan...This fan can move some air. Its best used as a spot fan, and does its job very well. I do structured wiring for homes as a side job (so Im often working late hours into the evening) and work without a generator because I dont want to disturb the sites neighbors. This fan is great for my application because it runs a long time on the 4AH batteries and along with my other Ridgid and Ryobi tools, Im able to get the job done without pulling out the loud genset. I highly recommend this quite, well built, fantastic fan!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool Little Fan I thought the price at first was slightly a little expensive, but having it now for 2 years (and we use it daily to cool down our cable box), it is worth it. It is VERY DURABLE (I have dropped the fan a few times, used it for exterior construction jobs to interior use). It is a 2-switch fan, GREAT for CAMPING becuase it is small and portable to pack, can be hung from the small hook in a tent, fan swivels, and has an option to use either the: 18-volt battery, as well as electrical plug-in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Great product. I bought one to help my son stay somewhat cooled off while waiting to get on the race track. He never complained about being hot while sitting in 90 plus degree heat in a car for at least 20 minutes. Used it several times in one day and the 4ah batteries I bought for it still had 4 bars. I highly recommend getting the high capacity batteries and the fan. You will not be disappointed. It also has the extension cord option which is a nice option but I haven't used that yet so can't really say much about that.

What is the approx run time for this fan?

Asked by: Robert
With a new lithium ion one plus 4.0 mAH high capacity battery mine runs around 8.5 hours on high. Jist checked it last night. High puts out very good airflow as well for the fan size. Would definitely recommend, solid product.

Does anybody else think this fan is LOUD?

I just picked this up from Home Depot. I got really surprised regarding its noise level after I turned it on. I read all the reviews on this fan, but did not read anyone commenting on the noise. Anyway, I think this is loud. What do other people think about the noise on this thing? Should I return it and get another one?

What is the prices for the batteries? Does one come with the fan when you purchase it?
Asked by: Linda
Does not come with batteries. It uses any One+ battery made by Ryobi. I'd suggest using the lithium ion batteries. NiCad are on the way out. Home Depot often has Lithium batteries on sale in packages of 2 or more, which is very convenient. You will also need the charger. This fan is made as a supplement for a person who already has some One+ tools. I have several, and I highly recommend them. There are rechargeable and battery operated fans if the batteries and charger are too pricy.

Can a 40V battery be used on this fan?

Asked by: Crys7
No, it uses 18volt only but you can get the bigger 18 volt packs for longer run time. I use it at my kids baseball games and it lasts about 3 full games on one battery on high speed.

Can i use this to cool my car when my dog is in it?

Asked by: Hillgirl
Fans just circulate air, they don't cool the air. If it's hot out, a fan alone will not lower the temperature, you would also have to have the windows down to allow heat to escape. I would not recommend leaving a pet alone in a car if it hot out.
