Rated 1 out of 5 by from big downgrade from years past I bought a few of these last year during the same promo. last year the deal was better to to bottom. this year the batteries are made cheaper with no rubber at the bottom to protect the battery. the charger has the thinnest power wire that is thinner than many USB wires. last year you got a bag with the deal, no big deal. but the big deal is you can tell the difference in quality of the product at first glance. I am going to return the batteries. the quality is not there for my money. I would rather pay a little more to keep the quality the same. the quality seems about on par with cheap Chinese nock off batteries you can find on the cheap.

It's clunky, not easy to store and being the power block adapter is heavy being supported by a very flimsy power cable is the perfect combo for breaking, stripping and just overall not last if you are goin be carrying this around. The previous model was bigger but at least it was better built quality with a standard power cable that wrapped nicely on the unit for easy storage and transporting. Ryobi skimped out on the carrying bag and the power cable supply on this revision does not appear to be durable, that's a definite let down.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Today I used both 4.0 AH batteries in my RYOBI mower. Both were fully charged and lasted about 13 to 15 minutes each, which is just enough to do the full lawn, and it gives me a brief breather while I switch batteries. For all the battery tools I have, the Ryobi battery is the easiest to push in and out. I wish the industry had standardized, as did the flashlight battery manufacturers. The charger is very compact and has indicator lights showing the progress. According to the manufacturer, these batteries have a 3-year warranty.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can't say enough good things about the Ryobi 18 volt One+ system. There are so many great tools for home use. This battery set is the bigger 4.0 Ah batteries. A little more weight for tools that need longer run time. Probably not the best option for a drill unless you need the longer run time. But many other Ryobi tools where the weight isn't as much of a factor. The charger has nice indicator lights signaling when the battery is charged (1 hour). The battery also has a level indicator light which is a great feature.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This RYOBI ONE+ 18V Lithium-ion 4.0 AH two batteries and charger kit is exactly what I needed to always have batteries charged and ready to use in my RYOBI ONE+ tools. I find these batteries to be long lasting and are quickly re-charged using the PCG002 18 volt battery charger. I really appreciate that I only need to glance at the blinking lights on the charger to see how far along the re-charge of my battery is. Having multiple batteries allows me to continue working on a job without interruption. See attached photographs. Well done RYOBI!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Waited for Ryobi Days to buy new batteries. They work... Waited for Ryobi Days to buy new batteries. They work great in all my new & old Ryobi tools. However the “free” 5 1/2” Ryobi saw I brought home did not last long. I used it 2-3 times to cut 1/2” plywood & 2x4’s. During its last use … it started smoking, smelled like it was on fire & stopped working. I was disappointed that a new tool could fail so quickly. So … I still have the old school blue Ryobi saw that is over 10 yrs old. I got it out to finish my project. I returned the bad smoking new neon yellow green saw to HD for a replacement. Back to the batteries … they are very nice & last at least twice as long as my standard Ryobi batteries.

Two went bad within 6 months. I had seven more so I thought nothing of it. Now all of them but two are bad. They test bad on the charger. Beware of this product. you may end up with several paper weights. Now like many other people have indicated via reviews, I either need to buy several more batteries so I can productively run businesses or invest in a new product all together. DONT LET THE CHEAPER OPTION FOOL YOU IF YOUR LOOKING FOR LONGEVITY

This still has the Ryobi get a free tool showing as a product, but no place to select one now. Yesterday it said it was on until Jul 17, and I waited so I could try to get everything in one box as the batteries were shipping separate from the free tool.

It could be that you have a faulty battery or the batter is no making a secure connection to the charger. Have you tried another battery? If you are getting the same results with all batteries, then it's possible that you have a faulty charger.

As long as your tool is 18v and is part of Ryobi's One, One+ or One+ HP tool lines then yes the included charger will work with all existing batteries. This charger does not support Ryobi's 40v line of battery's. It only supports Ryobi's 18v One, One+ and One+ HP battery systems. So, if you have a 40v tool you will need to get a different charger. All Ryobi One tools will clearly have One, One+ or One+ HP marked on them. Hope that helps.

I think these batteries are actually _lighter_ in weight than the old NiCad batteries - with much higher capacity. They are compatible with the old tools - but not the old NiCad charger - you might as well dump (recycle) that at this point.
