There's no clear issue with a connection, and frankly there shouldn't be after under two hours of mowing. I tried multiple batteries, in both available slots, so it's not that simple and I'm not interested in taking apart a brand new item. I'll be returning this mower, and perhaps trying out a different brand.

That is the only way I have used it so far. Handles the cutting fine and the lawn looks even. Replaced a 35 year old lawnboy 4.5 hp and seems to handle grass as well or better than it did.

I just plugged in the charger and it's making a noise, sort of like a fan running or something. Should it? I have a smaller 40 V battery for my weed wacker and it makes no noise when it's charging. Just want to make sure nothing is wrong.
Asked by: Molly
normal. It is a fast charger and the fan is to reduce heat. Once the battery is charged the fan stops

What does "dual active battery ports" mean, and how does this effect functionality compared to other similar mowers, if at all?
Asked by: Sean
It means You can use two batteries in it at the same time , one of which is active at a time. . Once one is discharged, you merely open the spring loaded top lid on the mower and change the position of the "Key" or switch. That draws power from the second battery.

I've got an older, smaller 40v Ryobi push mower. It's exhausting to use. It's very hard to push, unlike a typical gas push mower. Are these newer ones easier to push? I'd hate to invest that type of money for another hard to push mower. I'm a nearly 60 year old widow and do all my own lawn work. I need easier machines, not harder as I age!! LOL
Asked by: MimiDede
This pushes easier than my old 2 stoke lawnboy did. Considering your needs, a self propelled one might be the better choice. Ryobi makes several self propelled ones

Can I get this model (Cross Cut) without the battery and charger? Already own those. Thank you.
Asked by: Lazulla
I just called and asked, they said no tool only option. I thought that was part of the appeal of having the same battery work with so many things, no need to stockpile batteries. I already have 2 batteries and a charger that I haven't taken out of the packaging. I'm not going to add to that collection. If I could get it tool only I would buy one now.

Is this mower powerful enough to cut the grass evenly even when walking fast?

Is this mower powerful enough to cut the grass evenly even when walking fast?
Asked by: mak
Like any mower, that might depend on how tall you let the grass get between mowings. If you mow more frequently, yes you could do well walking fast, but if you mow less frequently, you might make it hard for the mower to do it’s job. But that would be the case with any mower, no matter how powerful it is.
