Rated 1 out of 5 by from A junk I got my snowblower one month ago. I was excited to try it out. I charged up the batteries to full charge to test for a run. The lights turned on, then when I went to start the auger the snowblower went in reverse and then shut off. I cannot get it to start again. The auger does not rotate and engine does not stay on. I called 1 800 525 2579, it is all automated to speak to customer associate or service, I keep getting disconnected without speaking to anyone / middle of automated service. On line, I was instructed to download an app with upfront fees. I am stuck with this piece of junk and want to return it. I don’t recommend it to anyone. Buyers be aware!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong machine, fun to use. Buy it! This is a great snowblower. We have been gradually transitioning from gas powered to battery powered tools for some time. We had 6 or 7, 40 volt Ryobi tools already so this was an obvious addition. It was easy to assemble and equally easy to use. Most importantly, it is light weight enough that my wife has taken it over - fun, she says. 35 - 40 minutes of continuous use clears our 2000 sq. ft. driveway and brings the two batteries down to about half charge. So, lot's left if you have a bigger area to clear. Of course, if you already have other 40 volt Ryobi tools, you have plenty of battery power available anyway.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Difficult to use, wheels slip constantly I'm dissappointed. I used this once and I found it very difficult to clear my driveway. One wheel was always slipping. When one wheel was spinning freely on ice or snow or something else, the other wheel did not get any power, and therefore the snowblower did not move. I had to do a lot of "pushing". This was not the experience I expected. I think this issue is due to an "open differential". They should have used a "limited slip" or "locking" differential. From what I've read, I think the EGO uses a better differential, and I suspect the 24" Ryobi snowblower may also use a better differential, since in the store it is so much harder to turn. In hindsight, I think the open differential is what makes the 22" Ryobi snowblower (this snowblower) so easy to turn. I am considering 1) returning it to the store and buying the EGO snowblower, or 2) buying chains to put on the tires to help with grip. However, the chains are not "cheap" and this snowblower is already expensive (and Home Depot/Ryobi keep increasing the price from $1800 to $1900 to $2000).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unfortunately disappointed To say I'm extremely disappointed with this product is, to be honest, an understatement. Story time. First snowfall, ~7cm. Blower was working fine, I was pleased with its power and throw distance. Then a battery died on me - wouldn't charge at all. Over a month later, and Ryobi have still not sent me a replacement battery. With 15-20cm of snow expected, I go to Home Depot and persuade the manager to swap my dead battery for a working one. Morning time. 15cm of snow and slush mix. 10 minutes into clearing it, and a second battery dies. Two uses of the blower, two dead batteries. I've spent two hours on hold with Ryobi support, only to have the call dropped. I've sent multiple emails to their Support, with no resolution whatsoever, and days between responses. Their website claims to have a 'chat' function, but it is unfindable. I wanted, so much, to like this product. But the abysmal quality of both the batteries and the support means I cannot with a clear conscience recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good electric powered product but not the best**** Perfect in fresh & light snowfalls. Powerful dual-motor engine. Easy to handle & super agile! Gets a little harder to operate when it comes to heavy duty work or in icy conditions. It lacks in traction & weight to get the slush and/or the heavy/hard snow out of the way.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light And Easy To Manoeuver We've only had one snowfall so far that was worthy of a snow-blowing, so this review is based solely on that one experience. It did a satisfactory job of blowing snow from our 100-foot plus driveway, but the important aspect of that is that the machine is light enough and manoeuvrable enough for my wife to operate fairly easily if I was not available to do it myself. The fact that she is a small woman was a key consideration in finding a machine that she could handle easily and safely.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not great for snowbelt It does not do well in slush or with a layer of ice below the snow. Always fighting with batteries. I can always get the driveway finished before they die. That is not the problem. The batteries just stop working and won't charge. Thankfully customer services is great but that still may leave you with a drive way half done.

For safety reasons, the auger will only run while the auger lever is depressed.

Asked by: peterd
Hi Peter, Thanks for reaching out to us regarding the 40V HP Brushless Whisper Series 22" 2-Stage Cordless Electric Self-Propelled Snow Blower Kit. It is important to make sure that you are moving the correct paddles when using the machine. The auger control is on the right and the drive control is on the left. Also, ensure that the drive paddle is in a neutral or forward position if the snow blower is moving in reverse. If that doesn't work, please call our RYOBI customer support at 1-800-860-4050 Thanks, RYOBI Canada Team.

How easy is it to move? I need to maneuver it and out of my garage (where it will need to follow a curve around my car and then parallel park beside). How can I move it if the battery dies in middle of operation?

Asked by: megpeglegs
Hi there, Thanks for reaching out to us regarding the 40V HP Brushless Whisper Series 22" 2-Stage Cordless Electric Self-Propelled Snow Blower Kit. This snow blower has the same maneuverability as any two wheeled tool. You can lean it back on the two wheels and turn it any which way you desire. Moving the machine while it is off is possible but can be prevented by monitoring the two fuel gauges on the top of the machine (one for each battery). I hope this helps! For further information, please contact RYOBI Customer Support at 1-800-860-4050. Thanks, RYOBI Canada Team.
