Rated 4 out of 5 by from RYOBI 40V HP Good performance. It is on the heavy side so more comfortable for larger individuals. The shoulder strap is useful especially to adjust the working height for vacuum’s tip interface angle with the ground. If the tip is parallel to the ground, the tip will get sucked down to the ground and won’t move. Adjust it so the leading edge always has an air gap. For most jobs, low speed works fine because the battery gets drawn down pretty quickly even on low. Two batteries are supplied and that is fine for most homeowner use. Commercial’s jobs would need supplemental batteries IMO. If used on something like a wood deck, the suction is powerful enough to actually get a cleaner deck, sucking out debris in the cracks. Very cool

However, it’s big and heavy after a while if you are sucking up leaves .The harness is nice to have for bigger jobs. Make sure the suction/blower tube is fully seated to the main unit, there is a small activation switch for safety. The unit will not turn on unless this switch is fully engaged. Batteries run about 15 minutes each, definitely need the two batteries. Powerful blower and suction is great if you’re sucking up dry material. It is what I expected for a cordless/battery operated system.

Returned it and the store employee said this is not the first time it happened. Looked at the reviews online and couldn’t believe how many there were with the same complaint. Obviously RYOBI has sold many defective products and are not doing anything about it. Steer clear of this one!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy this tool It is impossible to change the tool between modes unless you are into weight training. The internal friction involved in swinging the motor/blower/mulcher unit from blower to vacuum positions or reverse is very high and thus turning the dial to accomplish the change requires very strong hands or the use of a large plumber’s wrench. The tool does not mulch leaves as well as suggested in the description and thus regularly becomes clogged when used in vacuum mode. It is not difficult to disassemble the tube for picking up leaves and clean out any clogging material but reassembly is difficult. There are safety switches between the parts and these must be aligned precisely or the unit will not run. I have other Ryobi tools which work well but this leaf blower/mulcher/vacuum is a total failure.

The friction when you attempt to swing the motor blower/chopper unit from blower to vacuum position or reverse makes it impossible to move unless you have exceptionally strong hands or use a large plumbers wrench to grab the knob that must be turned. It does not mulch up leaves as well as suggested in the description and thus regularly becomes clogged when being used in vacuum mode. Cleaning out the leaves clogging the unit is a tedious job. It is not hard to remove the entry tubing but very difficult to reassemble as there are safety switches that must be alligned accurately or the unit will not run. I have other Ryobi tools which work very well but this leaf blower/mulcher/vacuum is a total failure.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ryobi Leaf Blower/Mulcher/Vacuum This baby rocks in terms of power/speed! Both, the blower and vacuum are very powerful and the mulching is excellent - less bags! The 2 4AH batteries charged very quickly - within 20 mins. However, I found it very bulky to handle and heavy! Even with the harness it is quite heavy :( I initially planned on using my 6 AH batteries but no chance - too heavy. I am now looking at getting the Ryobi leaf blower instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful and durable Wasn't sure how powerful it would be for blowing snow. Due to health issues my wife does the shoveling. She is small and this wad excellent especially with the harness. It made clearing the snow a snap more then enough power. It was also powerful to vacuum up leaves and other things while not picking up our rocks.
