Rated 1 out of 5 by from It was great, and then it REALLY wasn't I bought this at the start of the summer of 2020 and it was great! I loved it! By the summer of 2021 the battery had degraded to the point that I could never recommend this product. I honestly don't know how Ryobi can continue to sell it! The batteries DO NOT last. Last year, I could cut my entire property in one charge, and now it takes three charges. Over the winter, I left the mower in a heated garage, plugged in as directed in the manual. Now the mower runs for 40 minutes at best before the blades quit. And often that is when the battery still reads 60% power, so there is really only 40% of the battery that is usable for mowing. I loved this mower when I purchased it: it's quiet, quick, and with no fluids or belts, I suppose it was too good to be true. I own a Tesla, I love the electrified future, and I would love everyone to have an electric mower, but I would feel very guilty if I told you to buy this one if you are hoping for the mower to last more than one season.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Love Love It! I did my research before buying this unit and there were some bad reviews about the battery life, but I still made the purchase. I cut more than an acre and it's usually long each time, but she plows through easy with 65% battery life to spare... I get the job done in about 35 minutes and enjoy cutting the grass. It's easy to maneuver, once you get the hang of it and I see jealousy in the eyes of my neighbours...lol

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Inoperable mower delivered We purchased this mower two weeks ago and it was delivered last week. After assembling it (fairly easy task), we plugged it in over night only to find out it didnt even start. Called Ryobi and some pretty rude guy diagnosed the issue over the phone and said we need a new charger and asked that we send in the invoice which we did immediately. This was on a Thursday and several email attempts went unanswered so we called the following Wednesday and was told the part would be ordered that day and it could take two weeks or possibly more. Now we are left with a hunk of junk that just takes up space in our garage. We have zero confidence in the rude Ryobi guy (he said his supervisor was off sick but may call us later in the week) and have no idea when we are getting the charger, or if that is even the issue! Wish I could give this a less than one star review. Think twice before spending over $6,000 on this mower.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great for 1 year Bought 1 year ago and it has been great until a month ago. Now at 60% it stops when I am cutting the grass. There is no grass jamming it up and it runs fine when blades aren’t engaged. Until then it was a great machine and powerful for using little trailer around property. Battery? Resistance in the system? Useless for grass cutting now. :(

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great idea, but the batteries need work This mower was great at first, but the batteries need some work. The batteries no longer hold a charge and the mower deck has started to shut off due to power loss after only 5 minutes of use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hope you have a heated garage! The mower itself does what I need for my property. There have been no issues with charging or operation. The ride as good and the cut is even. My concerns with the mower are these: I do not have a heated garage, and after purchasing and reading the manual, it states that the batteries should not be stored where the temperature regularly goes below 10 degrees Fahrenheit (-12 Celsius) where I live. This should be clearly stated in the mower description on line. Leaving the batteries in an unheated garage to overwinter will apparently result in their quick deterioration. So, learning that I have removed all four batteries to overwinter in my house. That brings me to the second issue. The manual’s description for battery removal is missing two very important steps, as I discovered. Following the steps as listed in the manual will result in damage to the mowers wiring. Discussing this with customer support, they were unaware but promised to review. So, while I like the mower and that I am hopefully helping the environment by choosing electric, I am not happy at all that I will have to remove the batteries every fall and reinstall them once the weather has warmed up in the spring. They are heavy and as stated the manual’s description of the process is significantly flawed. If Home Depot is going to sell this product in a cold climate then the sales description needs to include this information. I am just shy of 60 and not thrilled with having to remove and reinstall the batteries twice a year as I age. Customer support told me they did not recommend removing the batteries, however when I shared my location and the typical winter temperatures, it was agreed that the battery removal was necessary.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I used to think it was great, but then, year two I used the mower for one full season, and put just about 40 hours on it. I loved the mower last year. I didn't have a complaint at all. It is so quiet and there is so little vibration that after a couple of hours mowing, I didn't feel tired at all like I used to on my Husqvarna zero turn. It really is a thing of beauty. This year....I love it A LOT less. I left it in a slightly heated garage all winter, plugged in and charging (as directed by the manual). The garage might have fallen just below freezing on a few days here and there, but I tend to try and keep it between 5 and 10 degrees. This spring, pulling out the mower, everything seemed great: no gas, no oil to change, no filters or belts. Just check the tires and go. But, I used to be able to cut my entire lawn in under two full charges. Now, it takes AT LEAST three, and now by mid season number two, it is taking even four charges. I've taken a huge hit on my battery capacity. By next year I suspect the mower will be unusable. Plus, this year it is behaving very oddly. The gauge will read 50% battery life, but the blades will completely stop, like it does when the charge gets too low to keep cutting (the blades stop but the drive motors will keep working to allow you to get back into the garage to charge). Last year it wouldn't do that until it was down to between 10 and 20%. It is all very unfortunate. It is a wonderful mower other than the battery, and I really enjoyed year one. Year two, I still appreciate all the benefits of electric, but I am saddened by the battery performance, and the not too far off prospect of having to replace the battery, (which I'm not sure would be worth it.) I'm afraid I couldn't recommend this to anyone, and I feel guilty because I DID recommend it to friends last year, and a couple bought it! Sorry to them!
