Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great electric mower This mower does a great job. Comes with a cup holder which is nice. Very happy with the cruise control feature. Comfortable seat as well. If you have two acres or less of grass to cut it’ll handle it no problem on a single charge Some cons: louder than I thought it would be but not intrusive. Grass has to be really short before you can use the mulcher insert, otherwise it stalls. Arrived from the factory with a completely flat front tire that had a slow leak due to a manufacturing defect. Because there is no local Home Depot in my town I took the wheel to a local tire shop and they were able to properly seal it. All in all I would recommend this mower?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from worst product i've had I bought mine 2 years ago. 30h of use first mow of the season everything is going well. second mow won't start at all. I tried to contact there customer service. no help at all. they said I need to change the battery which is close to 1000$. 30hours of use and 1000$ to repair.... very good value.... that mower is more expensive to maintient than a car. Do not touch that product at all. I always been respecful with them but now enough is enough.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY Batteries will barely outlast warranty As others have stated. Our machine has 25 hours on it and now won't do more than 5 minutes of work before it craps out. It has 3 seasons on it, seaon 3 it started to give some trouble after the battery got below half. We are in season 4 now and it takes 4 days to mow our lawn requiring a FULL charge to do a bit of work. Was plugged in 100% of the time it was not used and kept plugged in inside a heated garage all winter every winter. Absolute paperweight. I can't in good consciense sell this heap to somebody else without disclosing the issue. But Ryobi clearly can sell it knowing it will barely outlast the short warranty. No more Ryobi products for me and certainly no more electric tools outside of an impact or drill. DO NOT BUY.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from RYOBI 48V 38 inch rideon mower Horrible experience (after the first normal year ), bought at Home Depot. 2nd year:Battery gauge is all over the place, cannot trust it. 2nd year: Charger sometimes works, sometimes only partial charge or nothing 3rd year: Mower is to be connected at all times to the charger when not in use, as per the manual. Parked in my garage connected to charger over the winter 2023 / 2024 and now find it with a dead charger and all batteries dead. What a nightmare, of course everything is now out of warranty and I am out on my own now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Batteries are horrible. Buy something else. After plenty of research, reviews, and deliberating I decided to go with this electric riding mower. I bought this late last summer and the batteries did not even last one year. Initially it worked well for a month, but now when I go to cut my 2 acre flat lawn, the cutting blades turn off after 10-15 minutes of use and I barely have enough power to drive back to my garage. It takes roughly 4-6 charges for me to finish my lawn. Save your money and buy a more reliable gas powered mower.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Was a great idea I was so happy with this machine the first summer, but by the fall it was losing power too soon. The charger was not working properly. It took 5 months to get a new charger. in the mean time I had to pull the batteries out and charge individually. (not an easy task if you have a bad back) The next summer an exact repeat but this time the charger came sooner but still a month of down time and by now significantly less cutting time. The 3rd and final summer and 3 chargers later, it won't run at all and the batteries are toast. I have decided not to invest another $1200 on new batteries only to have 3 more summers of frustration. My mower is still under warranty but it's useless without the batteries. $5000 wasted! The batteries should be covered for 3 years as well, the faulty chargers were replace under warranty and I'm left wondering if this was the cause of the battery failure. No service help from Home depot stores either, and service centre was 100 km away and they seemed to be on a learning curve with the machine. I do not recommend this machine until lithium batteries are available and Home Depot offers better service support.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Be prepared to spend another $1k on batteries Buyer beware!! Had this mower two and a half years and started getting strange readings on battery gauge. Called support, and they told me the batteries went bad and needed to be replaced. These need to be ordered from the US and are going to cost me over $1,000! The batteries apparently just go after a while, sometimes after 2 years, sometimes after 5. But either way, you're in the hook for $1k when they do (when, not if). Regretting this purchase but stuck with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Batteries don’t last, are only covered for 1 year I bought this lawn mower and after 2 years the batteries were bad. When I called to see what could be done I was told that the warranty is only for 1 year and that I’s have to pay $700+ to get them replaced. For a company who is all about their batteries and quality of their equipment I’m very disappointed. Would have been much cheaper and easier to get a gas ride on lawn mower. I would not recommend this product at all.

I havé used an extension a few times and have not seen any difference than when I plugged it in directly to an outlet .

How hard is it to remove the battery. E.g., if I just want to store the battery inside at night, is that a big operation?

Asked by: Mikey
Definitely a big operation. It takes about 20-30 minutes, which is ok if you do it once a year, but wouldn't want to do it every day. Keep in mind as well, that four batteries are really heavy to move around daily.
